Masongill Lodge is a splendid, Grade II listed two-storey property, built in 1709 and situated just within the western boundary of the Yorkshire Dales National Park on the border with Lancashire and Cumbria, a stone's through from the pretty village of Ingleton and sort after market town of Kirkby Lonsdale.
The cottage sits within its own grounds in the small hamlet of Masongill, a dozen houses along half a mile of single track, no-through road which leads directly onto the fells over looking Inglebrough, one of North Yorkshires Three Peaks.
As you enter through the original porch, you are transported into a stylish drawing room where you can relax after a busy day exploring the Dales. A wood burning stove will keep you warm and cosy whatever the weather. Make culinary memories using delicious local Yorkshire produce in the stunning kitchen with its four-oven Aga and french doors opening out onto the garden where alfresco dining can be enjoyed around the comfortable outside furniture seating eight guests.
The first floor offers four delightful bedrooms, two with their very own en-suite bath or shower room and further family bathroom, all of which boast countryside views through the historic mullion windows.
From the well tended plantsman's garden and two paddocks there are beautiful views to the west as far as the Irish sea, and to the east to the summit of Ingleborough. Masongill Lodge is in an ideal location for an outdoor break with plenty of scenic walking and cycling directly from the front door of the property. Guests of Masongill Lodge will be spoilt for choice when it come to dining out, whether it be a light lunch at The Falls Bar and Kitchen or an evening meal at the Marton Arms, just 5 minutes drive away.

We have stayed in this property 4 or 5 times now and love the place. The location is wonderful for those who enjoy walking and the outdoors while having a luxurious cottage to go home to at the end of the day. We stayed this time with 3 of our adult kids and felt so relaxed. Note -cooking is via an Aga (there are electric options) which I love. Wifi is good. Tv is small and not a smart tv so we did have to use some of the kids' wires to watch netlflix via a laptop. The housekeeper lives in the village and was very responsive to the occasional queries we had. We were there for 2 weeks and got a bed change and quick clean in the middle which was nice. The only mishap was - we sat on the slate bench outside and it spontaneously broke!! (we are quite normal sized) . We fell quite badly but amazingly the tea mugs we were holding survived better than my back - good old Portmeirion china! Lots of great walks nearby and small towns to visit. There's an amazing Farm shop at Skipton to stock up in if you come via Leeds (Keelhaul Farm Shop) and Booths in Kirkby Lonsdale is excellent.
