About this property

Pocklington 3 miles. This quality, detached log cabin sits on a quiet holiday park overlooking fields, within three miles of the charming little market town of Pocklington and a short drive from York. With oak doors and wooden floors it feels cosy, inviting and full of light. The open plan living space is very sociable and the French doors open out to a decked patio, just the ticket for alfresco meals on sunny afternoons. Two cosy and comfortable bedrooms sharing use of the bathroom complete the accommodation at this lovely holiday lodge. The area has some very picturesque villages, each with a character of their own, where you’re sure to find a traditional pub or two, perfect after a day of touring this pretty area. Pocklington has all the facilities you would expect from a market town, including a street market held on Tuesdays, whilst the many attractions of the historic city of York are within easy reach, just ten miles away, with the park and ride facility a short drive away. The Howardian Hills, which lie nestled between the North York Moors National Park, the Yorkshire Wolds and the Vale of York, offer a captivating landscape worthy of exploring, with a colourful patchwork of pastures to roam and of course, the iconic Castle Howard. Wolds Way Lavender Farm is a lovely place to while away a few hours, with five acres of lavender enclosed in woodland, and where you can peruse the shop or relax in the tea room before joining the Wolds Way Walk. Nearby Nunnington Hall is home to the Carlisle Collection, a fantastic assortment of miniature rooms, sure to delight the child in every visitor! Both the beautiful Yorkshire countryside and the city of York can easily be enjoyed from this delightful log cabin.

The pretty little market town of Pocklington nestles at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds in the Vale of York. It is perhaps best known for Burnby Hall Gardens - 8 acres of gloriously beautiful gardens with two large lakes which are home to the National Collection of water lilies. There are several world famous attractions nearby - majestic Castle Howard, beautiful Sledmere House, and of course the historic city of York.
