Take a wander down the affluent cobbled market square and choose from one of the many trendy bistros and restaurants. Dogs will enjoy a scout round on the open common land of Westwood, where cattle roam free. York is an easy drive and will fill your day with its Roman Walls, Jorvic Viking Centre and the National Railway Museum, whilst the East Riding coastal resorts of Bridlington and Filey are within easy reach. For nature lovers, RSPB reserves at Bempton and Flamborough, along with North Cave Wetlands are nearby. A little further afield is the city of Hull, the UK City of Culture 2017, with its theatre, cinema, museums, shops and restaurants, as well as the nationally renowned submarium, The Deep, which would be a great day out for everyone.
