The Thankful Forge is a beautifully restored characterful forge which was originally the thriving blacksmith's in the heart of the village of Catwick. The cottage is attached to the owners' home and has a cosy open plan living space on the first floor with natural feature hard maple flooring taking advantage of the good views of the surrounding countryside and village. The very flexible accommodation offers a twin bedroom on the first floor together with a sumptuous super king-size double on the ground floor which can be configured as a twin room. Each bedroom has its very own shower room which will guarantee no queues in the morning! The woodburning stove is a perfect addition whatever the season and is an addictive spot to put your feet up and relax after another great day exploring. Outside is a lawned garden with a patio and furniture so you can enjoy your breakfast and take advantage of any good weather. The Thankful Forge is well positioned for exploring the delightful county of East Yorkshire with its superb coastline offering majestic cliffs and sandy beaches. The traditional seaside town of Hornsea is only six miles from 'The Forge' and is either the start or the end of the Trans Pennine Trail! At 215 miles the route is an exciting and dramatic trail linking the North and Irish seas, passing through the Pennines, it is designed for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. Hornsea Mere is Yorkshire's largest freshwater lake offering sailing, rowing, fishing and even motor boat trips; it is a great spot for twitchers! Take a scenic drive within the rolling Yorkshire Wolds, a huge source of inspiration to the artist David Hockney. The Wolds offer a sprinkling of pretty villages and of course the market town of Beverley with its beautiful market. This is a lovely cottage in a fantastic location, guaranteed to offer something for everyone and is ideally located for the 2017 Hull city of culture.

The village of Catwick is a civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It is approximately 8 miles from Beverley and 5 miles from Hornsea's town centre. Catwick is one of only a handful of villages in the UK with no war memorial as all who went to fight in the Great War were lucky enough to return home. Catwick is one of only 13 villages known as a 'Double Thankful' village as all who went to fight in the Second World War were also lucky enough to return home. Nearby Beverley is full of history and there are plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from - don't forget to enjoy a day out at Beverley Races! The Deep submarium in Hull, the fascinating city of York, the North York Moors and the East Coast seaside towns of Hornsea, Bridlington and Scarborough are all within an hour’s drive.
