About this property

An outstanding, detached farmhouse with panoramic views over sweeping valleys stretching for miles. This spacious house provides welcoming and stylish accommodation within its own fifteen-acre grounds. Perfect for families, this beautiful house promises a peaceful stay all year round. It is secluded and excellently appointed, and includes its own hot tub that rests in a walled garden enjoying 360 degree views over quiet valleys and dramatic open moorland, rich in wildlife. Enter through an impressive hallway, with sweeping stone steps and flagstone floors. Sit and relax with a glass of wine in one of the two separate sitting rooms, with large comfortable sofas, exposed beams and a wood burning stove to warm those cooler nights. The centre-piece of the house is a huge open plan kitchen and dining area, featuring a dining table which seats the entire party, as well as a leather chesterfield sofa and a cosy wood-burning effect, electric stove. The kitchen is full of character with granite counter tops, A-framed beams and a classic, modern four oven electric AGA range cooker. Downstairs is a beautiful bedroom with en-suite shower room. Upstairs is a superb family master bedroom suite with super king-sized bed, leading to both a room with bunk beds, and to an en-suite shower room with double basins. There is a further stunning en-suite king-size bedroom, as well as a bedroom with king-sized mahogany sleigh bed, and two stylish twin rooms. There is a lovely family bathroom with separate shower and roll-top bath. Wake up to the glorious scenery, then wander outside to take in the landscape in its entirety, whilst you relax on one of two patio areas, or enjoy a warm soak in the hot tub. Quiet footpaths trail through the valley, where deer, owl and pheasants potter, and guests will find plenty of pretty, secluded spaces perfect for picnics. There are excellent walks and cycle rides accessible direct from the property. A cosy local pub is within walking distance, and a farm shop nearby. Unwind in the local medieval village of Heptonstall; a beautiful, cobbled, village with a museum and two pubs. The Cross Inn is believed to date from the early 17th Century, and the White Lion is a throwback to when the village was besieged during the Civil War The National Trust woodland of Hardcastle Crags is on the doorstep, offering numerous walks, a mill museum and cafe. Hebden Bridge is 3.5 miles away and offers an eclectic choice of cafes, shops, bars and restaurants, as well as a stylish old-fashioned cinema and Victorian station. Nearby Halifax is a short drive from the property, where guests can visit Shibden Hall and Estate, once home to Anne Lister, as well the famous Piece Hall and the Eureka children's museum There are many day-trip options, including the charming market town of Skipton, the gateway to the magnificent Yorkshire Dales, with its 900 year-old castle, romantic ruined priory and historic high-street.

In the centre of the village are the two remaining pubs, the Cross Inn, believed to date from the early 17th century, and the White Lion. Nearby is the town of Hebden Bridge, while the area is a must for steam railway enthusiasts who will enjoy the thriving Worth Valley Railway. Heptonstall is one of West Yorkshire's best kept secrets; a wonderfully preserved village with a main street that has changed very little in the last 200 years.

    Perfect for a family holiday.

Very accommodating and responsive. Although it was summertime, the weather turned cold and we couldn’t activate the heating. We consequently burned through all of the firewood before the host could repair the heating. Perhaps adding the check of the heating system and an assuring a surplus of firewood to the pre-check in check list would help? We worked hard to leave the BBQ setup in better form than we found it (cleaner), because it was in need of attention! Otherwise, our holiday was fabulous!!!

A perfect location for a family/friends get together. During my stay a fuse blew which resulted in a loss of water pressure. The owner dealt with the issue very quickly and efficiently. I highly recommend this property.
