    About this property

This wonderful, detached, stone-built Edwardian house with a ten-seater hot tub is situated in its own grounds in an outstanding location, in the small hamlet of Cringles, just one mile from the lovely village of Addingham and close to the spa town of Ilkley. Set in an enviable position, high on a hill, the cottage enjoys breathtaking views and fabulous walks in every direction, a first-class holiday base, perfect for friends and families exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Fully-renovated and furnished to a high standard, this fabulous cottage features contemporary luxuries including a beautifully tiled floor throughout most of the ground floor. Upstairs, there are two king-size double bedrooms, with one boasting en-suite facilities, along with two further spacious bedrooms, and a stylish family bathroom with freestanding bath and underfloor heating. There is an outstanding, stylish kitchen with a Rangemaster cooker, a central island with a granite worktop, and a modern oven and microwave set at eye-level. Gather in the dining room and discuss the day’s adventures over delicious, home-cooked meals, before retiring to the sitting room boasting a cosy woodburning stove. There is also a spacious second sitting room with a sofa bed and outside, the cottage is surrounded by gardens on three sides, with marvellous long distance views stretching in all directions. Let the children play on the enclosed lawn while you soak up the summer sunshine on the terrace patio, and enjoy alfresco dining on warm summer nights. For a true taste of luxury, sit back and relax in the luxurious ten-seater hot tub with four dedicated deep immersion bucket seats, a full body lounger and a domed foot massager, complete with Hydropools reflexology jets. The centre of Addingham is just a fifteen minute walk from this wonderful cottage, offering a good range of pubs, one of which serves gourmet food, a fabulous selection of restaurants and eateries, and a wealth of historic buildings. There is also a lovely, friendly golf course close by! Nearby, the towns of Skipton, Ilkley, and the historic Bolton Abbey are a must-visit, while glorious Malham and Grassington offer beautiful, limestone scenery, just a short drive away. This sensational cottage is the perfect getaway for discovering all that Yorkshire has to offer, all year round.

In the Domesday Book, Addingham is referred to as "Ediham", or "Home of Edi" - the Earl Edwin of Bolton Abbey. This historic village is located between Ilkley and Skipton and sits snugly in the valley of the River Wharfe, only three miles from the Dales National Park at Bolton Abbey. A corn mill near where High Mills is today was also mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1315, and over from the river is a weir, one of the most ancient medieval constructions in the village. Scenic Bolton Abbey is close by, and visitors shouldn't leave Addingham without taking a picturesque stroll along the river to the "Strid". Today Addingham is vibrant and thriving local community surrounded by stunning countryside and boasts little shops, fine pubs serving wonderful ales and a rather pleasing golf course.

"The facilities were amazing and the hot tub great after our 10 mile walk. The lovely welcome pack was very thoughtful and the little touches like hand wash, washing up liquid, tea coffee ,milk, beer and wine well received. It isn't a criticism, but a few more bar stools would have been welcomed as we tended to congregate in the kitchen. Mark the hot tub man was polite and attentive and the hot tub fitted 11 of us in with a little room to spare too. Paul and Claire were quick to reply to any email enquiries and a real pleasure to communicate with. Thank you for making our friends 50th a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable one."

"The problem is that house was so close to a busy A road with articulated lorries and buses thundering past at high speed that it ruined the experience. The garden was not private as the garden wall was low on the adjoining road ( obviously not to spoil the great view) but every vehicle that drove past could look straight in on you. The A road was approximately 20 feet from the hot tub and back garden had a high hedge and beyond this was a footpath and then the main road so if you are thinking of relaxing reading a book in the peaceful Yorkshire Dales then this is not the place to stay. Had I realised this I would not have booked the property."

"We celebrated my birthday here over a long weekend and were very impressed with the house. It was so well equipped and the owners had thought of everything to make the stay a happy and comfortable one. The big hot tub proved very popular indeed! Our little granddaughter came for a short visit on the Sunday and loved the extensive gardens. We ate out in nearby Ilkley on the Saturday at a lovely Spanish restaurant called La Casita but wanted to make the most of the facilities on the Sunday night so ate in after a leisurely walk in the local countryside! The dining table seats up to twelve people so there was plenty of room for everyone and there was a great atmosphere. Paul, the owner, was exceptionally accommodating from when we first booked and was more than happy to answer any questions. I had a memorable 60th celebration with friends and family so thank you 'Cringles House'. I would whole-heartedly recommend this wonderful 'getaway' and would definitely return!"

"We stayed at cringles for a family wedding. As a family of 10 with children we couldn’t have stayed in a better property. We had masses of space for everyone to do their own thing & come together for meals. The hot tub was perfect, after staying in a few of this type of property we haven’t a had a tub so big! Visiting in December & getting to enjoy the property in the snow with Christmas decorations was an added bonus. The hosts were great & so well organised, the admin side was a breeze. We hope to come back for another family holiday!"

"Lovely to relax in the hot tub after after a full day's walking and watch the sunset. The house was booked for my 50th birthday celebration and I had 10 friends for the first few nights followed by family for the rest of the week. The house was fully equipped, bedrooms spacious and beautifully furnished and it was nice to fit everyone around the dining table at night for meals. Lovely walks on the doorstep or from a short drive away. We were lucky with the weather all week which made for some great autumnal walks. Would definitely return."

"We had the pleasure of being the first guests to stay at Cringles House over a Christmas break and it was perfect for us. The weather was pretty wild wet and windy, but what do you expect from the Yorkshire Moors in December, however the house was warm, welcoming, clean and very well equipped. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wanted to visit the fabulous countryside on its doorstep."
    Mrs Vikki Scott, Boldon Colliery,
"Gorgeous house with excellent facilities for all guests! We were a large party of 11 and there was plenty of room for privacy but also great spaces to be together. Couldn't fault anything and would recommend Cringles House as a good base to explore the surrounding countryside! Excellent!"
