About this property

A beautiful 17th century, stone-built detached cottage, situated on a quiet lane, close to the small village of Oakworth and two miles from Haworth. This characterful cottage has been lovingly restored to provide a first class holiday home in a great location just a couple of miles from historic Howarth in beautiful rolling countryside. In a wonderful setting, with views of the surrounding open meadows and horses grazing in the nearby farm and everything close at hand, including a lovely country pub, this is the perfect setting to enjoy Dales life at its very best. Packed with character and charm, the owners have taken every care to combine modern styling with the historic genes of this old cottage. Guests will be met with a warm and cosy sitting room, with a lovely woodburning stove, a beautiful wooden floor and comfortable furnishings, an ideal room to relax and unwind. The modern kitchen/diner is well equipped and provides a great place to prepare a sumptuous evening meal. Upstairs, the charming double bedroom boasts a delightful French bed and stylish decoration, and the single room is equally stylish and both rooms are served by a family bathroom. Outside, through the rear porch, there is a beautiful rear garden with patio area and mature gardens overlooking the brook and the surrounding meadows. With numerous walks from the doorstep, including one that takes you to the nearby pub with its own well-known brewery, walks across meadowland, woodland and along to Top Withens, made famous in Wuthering Heights, this is a fabulous location. Skipton is nearby with its cobbled streets and castle, offering access to the Yorkshire Dales, whilst the Victorian spa town of Harrogate boasts fabulous shops, an excellent theatre and the fantastic Royal Pump Room Museum. A perfect retreat at any time of year. Note: This cottage is next to Refs. 24430 and 29670, together they sleep 11.

Oakworth is a small Pennines village just two miles from Haworth, overlooking the Worth Valley, made famous by the filming of the classic 1970 film version of E.E. Nesbitt's novel, The Railway Children.
