About this property

This excellent single-storey end-terrace cottage enjoys an enviable location on a high promontory, overlooking a reservoir in lovely rolling countryside on the outskirts of Oxenhope and just two miles from Haworth. This delightful Yorkshire Dales cottage offers single-storey accommodation, and provides a perfect romantic retreat for those wishing to spend time in this historic area. Thoughtfully designed and with excellent facilities, this cosy Oxenhope cottage retains much of its character and charm from the original dwelling. Elegant furnishings are evident throughout this Dales cottage, which features a lovely open plan living space with luxurious underfloor heating, a stylish and compact but well-equipped kitchen and a cosy sitting area. The spacious, modern double bedroom is a real delight, and offering a large TV, it provides a welcomed respite after a busy day in the great outdoors. With good views across the reservoir to the surrounding heather-clad, craggy moorlands, this Oxenhope cottage provides a wonderful base to explore the various delights of the nearby Yorkshire Dales and Bronte Country. The area is blessed with many fine walks, excellent old pubs and good eateries, and the interesting individual shops in the old towns of Skipton and Hebden Bridge can be uncovered within just a short drive. Steeped in literary history and home to the Bronte sisters, Haworth has much to offer including a variety of walks amongst the iconic, windswept moors. Further afield is the Victorian spa town of Harrogate, boasting elegant buildings with shops, an excellent theatre and the Royal Pump Room Museum. A wonderful Haworth holiday cottage, perfect for a romantic break. Note: This property is close to Refs. 913054 and 918098, together they sleep 7.

The small village of Oxenhope lies amid wonderful scenery, and offers the chance to take advantage of the multitude of walks in the area. The village, with its shops, churches and pubs, is home to the terminus for the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, which runs on a regular basis to Haworth and on down to Keighley.
