An unusual stone-built cottage in the lovely little village of Oakworth. A beautifully decorated property, ideal for couples, with elegant furnishings and an impressive Victorian-style front porch with artistic detailing in the woodwork. This theme is carried through to the sitting room; as you enter you will be delighted by the stylish, white luxury linen sofas, beautiful big mirror and feature wallpaper. The TV has a Firestick to keep you fully entertained and as you walk through to the kitchen, you will find a lovely dining table and chairs and fine, modern appliances to suit your needs. Upstairs you will come to the stunning bathroom, which again is wonderfully thought out with tasteful decoration, a beautiful wooden dresser and contrasting modern fixtures. Walk along to the charming bedroom, which has characterful windows, sleek furniture and a king-size French-style bed in the centre of the room. Throughout this lovely cottage is character, style and polished features. Out at the front is a small patio area with seating overlooking the mature gardens and just along the road you can see fantastic hilltop scenery. The Golden Fleece is a traditional pub offering food and local ales just a 10-minute walk away - ideal for popping in on your way back from an afternoon stroll. The famous village of Haworth is 2 miles away with its charming cobbled streets, shops and cafes and the Bronte Parsonage Museum where the Bronte sisters wrote their famous novels. Nearby Keighley also has plenty on offer such as Cliffe Castle, Keighley and Worth Valley Railway and East Riddlesden Hall, a 17th century manor house with gardens.
The village of Oakworth is full of charm and nostalgia with its beautiful park and the famous Railway Children station (still lit by gaslight) and get the chance to ride on a traditional steam train which runs from here. Curiosity Cottage is just that, a curious home of stylish elegance.
The large market town of Keighley is situated in Aire Valley in West Yorkshire. Today Keighley offers a shopping centre, pubs, takeaways and restaurants, whilst on the outskirts of the town are two retail parks, and the Keighley and Worth Valley Light Railway, made famous by the film The Railway Children in the 1970’s, runs for five miles through the town to the village of Oxenhope. The village offers cobbled streets, shops and the Bronte Parsonage Museum. Close by is the market town of Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, plus within driving distance are the city of York and Harrogate.
