About this property

Oakworth 1 mile. A cosy, 17th century, stone-built barn conversion, just outside the small Pennine village of Oakworth, two miles from Haworth. Overlooking the owners' stables and courtyard, this Haworth cottage has been renovated to a very good standard and makes an ideal country retreat. The property is full of character and charm, with exposed beams and delightful furnishings throughout this Haworth cottage. A lovely country retreat, this cottage near Haworth features a delightful farmhouse kitchen, a spacious sitting room, two lovely bedrooms and a bathroom. With picturesque views, lovely walks from the doorstep, plus the daily life of the horses and sheep to watch, this is a great place to enjoy country living. Nearby, within a short walking distance of this Haworth cottage, is the Turkey Inn at Goose Eye, which provides many fine ales from its own famous brewery, as well as lovely cuisine. Outside, there is a lovely shared garden area with valley views, and the area is steeped in much history from the industrial revolution. Haworth has pubs, restaurants and cafes, plus Skipton is nearby, and further afield is the Victorian spa town of Harrogate. A wonderful Haworth cottage hideaway, perfect for exploring all this lovely area has to offer. Note: This cottage is next to Refs. 29670 and 919042, together they sleep 11.

Home to the famous Bronte sisters, the small village of Haworth and the surrounding moorland inspired the women to put pen to paper and to write what have now become classics of English literature. With its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets, there is a wonderful period atmosphere in this charming town set against the backdrop of countryside that would eventually be made famous in 'Wuthering Heights'. The Worth Valley Railway is also nearby and was used in the film 'The Railway Children'. Trips around the old village of Oxenhope on the wonderful steam trains make for a special day out whilst The Bronte Parsonage museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the Museum of Rail all make equally good attractions whilst the market town of Skipton - often called the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales - is only a short drive away.
