About this property

Set within arguably one of the prettiest villages in the Cotswolds, enveloped by superb sightseeing opportunities and with the local pub just a 10-minute walk away, is The Old Cider Press. This homely retreat nestles within a beautiful thatched cottage, one of three properties, with its own private patio at the rear and a designated parking space. Feel immediately welcomed by the reverse level accommodation, making the most of the original framework, with exposed beams and traditional-style furniture. Two king-size double bedrooms rest on ground level, with ample storage space and soothing décor, allowing for a peaceful night's rest. They share a tiled bathroom, which showcases a bath with a shower over and a neutral finish. There is also a utility cupboard housing a washing machine, to complete this floor. Climb the staircase to the open-plan living room, which offers a bright and airy feel. Make yourselves at home on the sumptuous sofa and if nothing takes your fancy on the TV, why not get out one of the board games you brought along? Get cosy in front of the electric stove on a cool winter's evening and take in the peaceful ambiance wrapped around the cottage. The kitchen continues a traditional feel, yet is fully equipped and poses sleek worktops for a quality feel. Cook up a tasty meal and gather around the dining table in one corner of the room, before polishing off a delicious bottle of wine. There is also an enchanting spiral staircase you can climb, for a quiet read on the mezzanine landing. On a warm, summer's afternoon, sit out on the patio and chill with a drink, getting that much-needed rest you have been waiting for. Outside the cottage you will also find one designated, off-road parking space. Explore the delightful surrounding towns and villages; Broadway is a mere few miles away with shops, restaurants and galleries. Spend a day at Statford-upon-Avon, Cheltenham Spa and Worcester; all are easily reached. There are also some beautiful walking and cycling routes whichever way you turn. This serves as a wonderful base for exploring all the Cotswolds has to offer.

Stanton is arguably one of the prettiest and most idyllic villages in the whole of the Cotswolds, located at the foot of the Shenberrow Hill in the Northern reaches of the Cotswolds. Without doubt it has one of the most stunning high streets in the region with ancient houses dating back to the 16th century built in typical Cotswolds' style with steeply pitched gables, mullioned windows and honey-coloured limestone walls. The village also boasts two magnificent manor houses as well as a restored medieval cross and a church dating back to the Norman period.

Great bedrooms and lounge and kitchen. Bathroom needs some smartening up and could do with an extractor as there is no window. A teapot would have been good. A grab handle to help get into the bath for the shower would have helped.

.. we felt at home immediately and didn't want to leave at the end of our holiday. It was perfectly situated with great access to many beautiful local attractions; Batstone Arboretum, Snowshill Manor and Cotswold Lavender to name a few; however, one of the nicest parts was just sitting in the front garden at the end of the day enjoying the last rays of sun (yes, we had sun!)

Well furnished, very comfortable and everything needed was provided. Really felt guests had been carefully thought about. Only small negative was the bathroom, which perhaps needs some attention. We could not get the radiator to work, so it was very cold in there. The bathroom is the one room that needs to be warm. The shower head was too big to allow the water to flow properly with the pressure available. And lastly, the toilet seat is not so much 'soft close, more push hard! Have to emphasis, however, it was a super place and we'd happily go,back there.
