...holiday without any of our 3 children (aged 22, 20 and 18) and took ourselves and our spaniel Charlie) away to Torquay. We stayed at "Cockington" a self-contained flat that is part of the Blue Chip Holidays company's Bay Fort Mansions building high above Torquay. The flat was excellent, being clean and comfortable, well equipped (kitchenette, bath / shower, double bedroom and living room) and being plenty big enough for the 3 of us (including the dog). The best feature however was the location. We had panoramic views across the whole of Torbay towards Paignton and Brixham and yet Torquay itself was just a 10 minute easy walk down through the private mansions garden onto the public Queens Gardens walkway above the Torquay Palace Theatre and Torquay harbour. We even managed to find free on road parking outside the Fort Bay mansions building for the whole of our stay. Highly recommended. Ian Fletcher Submitted by Ian on 01/08/2016

... We stayed at Cockington (Apartment 7) of Bay Fort Mansions and were very comfortable. My travel party consisted of myself, my husband and our little Jack Russell, Edie. The most amazing aspect of this apartment was the view from the living room, which looked out to the harbour and bay at Torquay. We were also blessed with gorgeous weather which made the view even more delectable. The apartment itself is just as depicted in the photographs, although the dining table was a little more worn than it appeared. Nevertheless, all necessary equipment was provided - particularly in the kitchen, so eating in was easily achieved. The bedroom was very comfortable and we slept very well while we were there. The location of the apartment is a feature in itself. You are very well placed to explore the harbour and a drive out to Paignton and Brixham are easily undertaken. While closer to home you can drive to Cockington and spend a wonderful few hours. There are also some very good restaurants nearby - certainly worth exploring! I would recommend this apartment - and it's dog friendly too! Submitted by Yinka on 22/04/2016

...view from the living-room is simply amazing. If you don't need a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, this flat is pretty close to perfect for a stay in Torquay. The only downside is that you have to climb up the hill by either approximately 250 steps or walk up along the road, which isn't too bad. Submitted by Tanja on 24/07/2015
