Open up the patio door and step out onto the fantastic balcony where you can delight in a delicious lunch all whilst enjoying the breath-taking views of the sea and embracing the fresh salty air. Back indoors a lovely ground-floor twin has been decorated with pretty pastel colours and crisp white bedding, as well as featuring a handy walk-in shower cubicle. Venture upstairs to the first floor and discover a gorgeous king-size bedroom and a bright and contemporary bathroom with both a bath and shower over, so that you can choose how to best prepare for the day ahead. When ready to explore your surroundings, be sure to grab your swimming costumes and head down to the soft sandy shores of Bigbury beach or grab your walking boots and set about on a scenic hike along the South West Coast Path. Cross the River Avon over to Bantham or continue along to Hope Cove for the incredible vistas. Explore the iconic Burgh Island with it's art deco styled hotel that has hosted the great and the good since the 1920's. The Pilchard Inn on the island is a pleasant stop gap before boarding the unique sea tractor to return to your holiday home. Spend the day at Woodlands Family Theme Park, just a pleasant drive away, or see the exotic residents of Dartmoor Zoo and Paignton Zoo Environmental Park. The historical port city of Plymouth lies within easy touring distance and is home to many attractions such as The Mayflower Museum, Smeaton's Tower and the 17th century fortress of Royal Citadel, offering a fun-filled day for the whole family to enjoy.     Ideal location. The view from the balcony was excellent. Very well appointed. A most ideal place to say. I can thoroughly recommend it and we will return. One thing, The address is incomplete and it makes finding the site very difficult. The house number was missing. It should have 51 Marine Drive Added to the address of 2 The Bay.

    The apartment has everything in it that we expected during our one weeks’ late summer holiday and has a short walk to Bigbury-on-Sea beach and Burgh Island where trips to the Pilchard Inn can either acessed on foot when the tide is low or accessed using the Sea Tractor at high tide! We will definitely stay again. Only one maintenance issue during our stay was the window restrictor in the upstairs bedroom where it would have been more pleasant to be able to fully open the windows overlooking the sea using the key provided, but the lock was jammed so upon arrival during the hot weather the windows could not be fully opened to remove the heat. Conflicting responses received from Jane one the co-owner’s, Lesley the apartment manager and Alison the Sykes Rep, didn’t help and no resolution achieved!

    Great to be close enough to hear the sound of the sea. Place clean and everything you need. Parking off road and just outside the house. Two beaches within walking distance. Great to be able to go in the sea and walk back for a shower. Definitely plan to book that place again
