The nearest beach to Water Meadows is Torre Abbey Sands, a large expanse of golden sand that is family friendly and has the Blue Flag award.
Cockington village, one of the oldest settlements in the area, has a tea room in one of the original thatched cottages along with another café in Cockington Court, which also houses craft exhibitions and demonstrations. The medieval monastery Torre Abbey has recently been refurbished and provides excellent insight into Torquay's history as well as housing some fabulous exhibitions.

The apartment in water meadows complex is in a perfect position for explorinand surrounding areas. The booking and key collection arrange,nets were excellent and we were able to get in to the apartment slightly early. On the down side and if I was being picky than the vertical blinds were in need of a good clean and the extractor fans in both bathrooms were not working. Overall a good holiday and would book this accommodation again.
