Life at No. 1 The Pump House is all about enjoying the historic resort of Brixham in style. With a stylish, open plan design, the apartment makes a homely setting for a family escape to the English Riviera. The living, kitchen and dining space have a bright, welcoming feel, and there’s plenty of space to unwind as a family in between those adventures.

Whether you stock up on local produce and share a leisurely brunch at the dining table, or you while away quiet evenings listening to your favourite playlists on the ipod dock in the living area, this apartment has everything you need for that family escape.

When it’s time for bed, the master bedroom makes an elegant spot to unwind, and the king size bed means you’ll drift off with ease when all that sea air catches up with you. The second bedroom has twin beds, and the en suite bathroom means there’ll be no queue for the shower after a day walking the area’s breathtaking coastline.

Being right in the town centre means that you can really immerse yourself in the buzz of this thriving holiday town with everything on your doorstep from shops, restaurants and bars. The front door from the spacious lobby literally opens onto the level approach to the harbour.

With all the charm of a traditional fishing town, Brixham’s perfect for a family break. You’ll find attractions such as Berry Head Nature Reserve, Greenway House (the former summer home of Agatha Christie) and Breakwater Beach within easy reach, and the town’s cobbled streets are lined with cafes and restaurants serving up the fresh catch of the day.

...placed to explore the local area; Brixham is a small town but packed with great restaurants and bars. Brixham can be quite busy in the evenings, so booking restaurants is a good idea. The Curious Kitchen was our favourite place to eat, the breakfast was amazing and we wished we could have gone back to try the tasting menu. The Cow Shed just across the alley does great burgers, Verna's Pepper Shack at the end of the alley does lovely Caribbean food, The Old Market House was nice too. And make sure to pop into the Hideaway coffee shop just outside the flat to get your morning caffeine fix and some local insider knowledge on the area from the owner. We were travelling with young kids, so were not welcome in the New Quay Inn! If you like coffee, make sure to get a 'Millionaire' cocktail from Liberty 'Tea Parlour & Cocktail Bar'... you will not be disappointed. Nearby, the Brixham is lovely to wander, our kids loved the Golden Hind - walking the plank and pretending to steer the ship and fire the canons! Berry Head Nature Reserve is a few minutes drive and is a lovely walk with gorgeous views. Further afield we visited the beautiful Becky Falls (we rented a backpack to carry our two year old around and he loved it!), Babbacombe model village (which was a real hit, plus it had a little 4D cinema), Living Coasts (which is lovely for young kids and has an indoor soft play as a bonus) Coleton Fishacre, Crealy Park (ideal for younger kids, 10+ will find it a bit young)... and in the rain we hid in Kent Cavern (both the kids loved this place) and also in the quaint barn Cinema at Dartington Hall.
