...everything we had hoped it would be it was . The online photos actually fail to show how comfortable and relaxing the cottage is, often online pics flatter in this cottages case however it's actually better than the pics show. From our arrival and parking in Oxen car park (a short stroll from the cottage) where the vista is over Torbay and moored yachts, we knew we in for a special break. Yes the cottage is accessed via steep steps but without that the views over the harbour would not be possible , so the short climb is well worth it. As there was just the two of us we didn't need to use the twin bedded room , this is where the photos don't help as it is larger in reality than it appears in pics , a comfortable twin indeed. The master bedroom , huge comfy bed with good quality linen affords spectacular views over Brixham harbour , the comfy sitting room with freeview tv (good reception) . Bright clean bathroom , efficient electric shower over bath , which admittedly takes a while to fill but we are in holiday so no need to rush. Separate downstairs cloakroom was a bonus too. During our stay we didn't need to cook as there are many good places to eat all within a ten minute stroll from the front door . If however you are self catering I would recommend stopping at the sainsburys supermarket in Paignton as the only supplies in Brixham itself are tescos extra or small CO OP's . Possibly the only downside of the cottage is the very limited storage for non refrigerated goods in the kitchen as the few cupboards there are are filled with crockery pans etc. In summary I would rate the cottage as excellant , so much so we are returning next year Simon and Kate Submitted by Simon on 11/07/2016

...Harbour, it's worth the climb up the steps ! Very well equipped with everything you could need for a holiday. The whole house is beautifully decorated and bedding etc is high quality. Best bit though is sitting in the main bedroom enjoying the fabulous view over the harbour. As great at night as in the day. This was our third stay in Farthing Cottage and we will be back. ...harbour, shops and restaurants. The cottage itself has everything you need for a self catering holiday. It was clean and very homely, even had Wifi which was an unexpected bonus, the view from the master bedroom is amazing and worth booking just for this! Just be aware there are lots of steps leading up to the cottage and a few within the cottage, did not effect us, but might if your uneasy on your feet. I would recommend buying a permit from the local council for the parking as this works out so much cheaper, the harbour car park is about 5 minute walk from the cottage. Overall would recommended and we will be returning. Submitted by Amanda on 30/03/2016
