About this property

A wonderful apartment with spectacular sea views over TorbayA wonderful apartment with spectacular sea views over Torbay

Escape from it all with a stay at Avocet 2, a brand new property tucked in an exclusive development in South Devon’s stunning countryside. The apartment also includes access to a spectacular outdoor heated swimming pool on the grounds of this breathtakingly beautiful development.

Part of our beautiful The Cove collection, Avocet 2 makes a peaceful, coastal retreat for a family keen to enjoy Devon life in style. Avocet 2 is set in a prime location and boasts spectacular sea views from its position on the first level of the building.

The full width balcony is accessible via patio doors from both the living room and the master bedroom and provides plenty of space to relax and to take in the breathtaking 180 degree coastal vista.

The sun rises over the communal gardens and floods the living area with light, and the windows to the rear pick up the light later in the day, as the rays descend over the National Trust woodlands nearby. There is also a pathway leading directly down to Fishcombe Cove beach, a popular spot sheltered from winds.

As well as the contemporary décor and elegant design, the property benefits from stunning coastal views and is close to Battery Gardens and Churston Woods for those who enjoy a nice stroll, for those who like to wander further afield, you're only metres from the famous South West Coast Path.
Please note that pool opening is seasonal and subject to set opening times.

...We chose this apartment because of its location, next to Fishcombe Cove and a 20 minute stroll to the centre of Brixham harbour. If I could choose any of the apartments in this secluded complex I would choose this one as I think it has the best view, and the first floor apartments have more privacy when using the balcony. The views can be enjoyed from the main living area and the main bedroom, such a wonderful start to each day to look out onto the sea and coastline of Torbay. The apartment is well equipped, and it was a lovely touch for the owner to provide a welcome box of fruit and some provisions. Useful information and restaurant recommendations were also available. As well as those listed, we enjoyed The Weary Ploughman next to Churston Railway station - 6 mins in the car - lovely choice of food and excellent service. We swam from Churston Cove (5 mins walk) to Fishcombe Cove, where we enjoyed coffee and ice cream from the beach cafe (normally there from Easter to October)and watched seals swimming in the bay. We also had use of a beach hut at Broadsands Beach including beach chairs, very handy to be able to lock away valuables and go for a swim. It was lovely to be able to leave the car in the gated complex and walk to Brixham, and around the coast both ways. The apartment is right on the south west coastal path. We visited mid September, so I'm not sure whether it would be any different during school holidays, but we had such a wonderful relaxing and peaceful holiday. I would thoroughly recommend this property and hope to visit again soon. Submitted by Deborah on 28/09/2016

...holidayed with an infant and found access into Brixham on foot with a push chair a bit of a challange (steps along costal path or roads with no pavement). Apartment was smaller than appeared on photo's but adequate for our needs. 4 adults may struggle for storage space! Kitchen was well equipped with addition of washing machine and dishwasher helpfull. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the floating traffic. Overall a nice apartment and would recommend. Submitted by Kirstin on 30/05/2016

...areas. We went with our two girls 5 and 3 years and we found a packed weeks worth of activities all within 30 minutes or less from this beautiful apartment. All aspects of the apartment more than exceed our expectations, but the thing you really can't underestimate is the amazing views from the living area and bedroom. For young children we managed to go swimming at the Riviera International Centre, went to the wonderful Babbacombe model village and had amazing fun at Woodlands Theme park. There's also Paignton just down the road where you'll find a great kids play area and the pier as well as catching a spot of lunch at the Harvester. I would probably recommend booking for lunch at the Harvester at peek times of the year to avoid waiting around. The apartment also provided us with a beach hut that we paid a visit to for a morning and the kids had great fun making sandcastles and paddling in the sea. Brixham itself is about a 20 minute stroll from the apartment and you can access it via Fishcombe cove, a lovely little walk with great views which will give you time to try and spot the local seal before arriving into the harbour. Brixham harbour itself is lovely and quaint again with enough to do with the kids like exploring the pirate ship, crabbing or you can even just go for a spot of lunch. All in all I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the apartment, just go for it, you won't regret it. Submitted by Chadwick on 11/04/2016
