    Set on a quiet backwater, yet ten minutes from Ipswich, Woodbridge and the A14, these delightful barn conversions are part of original farm buildings and have been furnished and equipped to a very high standard. Situated near to the owners’ home, both holiday cottages enjoy shared use of a garden. Gables Barns are convenient for the Suffolk Heritage Coast (with the A1120 ‘tourist route’ just five minutes away), Constable Country, antique hunting at Debenham or Long Melford, or simply visiting some of the beautiful villages of this picturesque county. Local footpath walks abound and a village store and pub are within 2 miles.

    The Willows (BRL) and Brambles (BRM) are part of the original farm buildings and can be booked together to accommodate up to 11 guests.

    "The accommodation specifically the kitchen desperately needs repair and cupboards urgently need replacing. Kitchen equipment dirty, rusty and badly damaged. Chopping boards disgusting.No fire door between motorbike storage and kitchen with strong smells of petrol in the accommodation when owner refuelling his bikes. Not sure if petrol is kept in the room next to the kitchen. We questioned whether the door between might be illegal and a fire risk. Fire extinguisher ran out of date in 2010. The games room is now motorbike storage.Agents need to inspect and review this accommodation urgently.Poor on local information. All Suffolk magazines a year out of date. As it is a good walking area some information on local walks would be helpful. Local farmer was helpful in this aspect.Minimum spent on this property by owner. No extras. Don't expect any welcome pack, take everything you need to get started on your holiday."
    "The Willows is a truly magical place to escape to. In beautiful tranquil settings, our cottage sat right next to the pond - a treat to watch the various duck and birds whilst having breakfast.The cottage is sat in lovely gardens and looks out over fields. Set amongst pretty villages with very few amenities on the doorstep it really is an escape which adds to the charm. There is a super pub in near by Otley which serves great food.The cottage itself has everything you need and is very comfortable. The owner was very welcoming and once we were settled in he left us to it."
    "This is an attractive cottage set in a lovely part of Suffolk. The outside area is very well kept and a pleasure to spend time in. The decor of the cottage is tasteful and comfortable. The whole place is clean and welcoming. Our only complaint was the state of the kitchen which is overdue for a complete refit. The oven is a particular challenge to use as all the dial markings have been rubbed away. We paid a reduced rate so accepted the kitchen as it was but are frustrated that it spoils what is otherwise a great holiday cottage."

    "We had a lovely stay with two teenagers and a dog. Dog walks on your doorstep plenty for my active spaniel. We had no trouble with the WiFi and although limited local amenities that's not what we were looking for. The games room was an excellent bonus if a little chilly in October. Stuart was an extremely warm and helpful host and would thoroughly recommend his establishment."
    "Lovely location , lovely cottage from outside but :1. in pictures it looks bigger that in reality2. The most important part is that it needs urgent refurbishment , looks like it was never refurbished since it was converted. As we said , it looks nothing like in the pictures3. You come from our kitchen straight into the games room which wasn't a problem for us as the other cottage was also rented by a family . But it could have been a nightmare if it was rented by some party people as there is nothing you can tell them NOT to play pool but because it is on the other side of the door , it might be an issue so if you stay and want to be sure , ask for the other cottage which is not leading from kitchen straight into the games roomLocation outside the cottage was really nice , same for the area so the only downsides where the size of the cottage which was smaller than it looked in pictures and the biggest problem was the need of refurbishment and cleanness ."
    "The property is well situated in rural Suffolk, it has a spacious garden at the rear of the property which leads out onto open farm fields, a delightful, scenic Pond can also been seen from the front of the property where the ducks are a joy to watch.The owners live on-site and greeted us on our second day to make sure all was well and were available if need be without being intrusive.The conversion of barn to a residential property has been very expertly done, the property has plenty of character and is very homely and relaxing. The shared games room which links to the property is an added bonus and houses darts, table tennis, pool, and table football. We would definitely come back to this property, it was one of the most relaxing holidays we have had in a beautiful, quiet, and relaxing location, the starry night sky was stunning!"

    "Lovely location and grounds. Very friendly owners who made sure we were happy but did not intrude. Cottage is very well equiped and the games room is very handy. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. One small point, the cottage is quite dark (we had to put the lights on in daylight hours). Also the windows appear to have been painted whilst shut and, therefore, could not be opened in hot weather."

    "Great for us, because we needed to be near 'Ashbocking /Ipswich' area, for family reasons. I would imagine children would love the play area outside, and the games room in the summer season. Also convenient for the coast Aldeburgh/Snape etc..Someone has put a lot of thought and effort into the overall project and layout of the site!"

Lovely property next to farmland,with large garden, suitable for badminton, football etc, with plenty of wildlife. Fantastic games room with pool table and table tennis-the kids loved it! Owners very helpful, on hand to give directions and advice, exchanged the toaster for a new within hours of reporting it faulty. Great Holiday! Aug 2009."
