About this property

A fantastic opportunity to hire a fantastically unique house in the heart of the village of Wenhaston on the former site of a mill. Just a short drive from the sea.

An Eclectic individual detached property on the edge of Blackheath nature reserve with its woodlands and water meadows. The Old Mill House is absolutely stunning! Well proportioned house offering an idyllic country escape, perfect for a family gathering or a get together with friends.

This pretty whitewashed house sits in extensive gardens with plenty of parking and a 40ft private heated swimming pool. Accommodation is spacious with a unique and stylish interior. On the ground floor there’s a double bedroom complete with ensuite bathroom, a stunning open plan living area with dining and cooking facilities, a wonderful and sociable place where all the guests can get together and spend some quality time on holiday. Upstairs there are an additional three bedrooms all beautifully furnished and decorated with nice personal touches including colourful crocheted throws on the beds. (Just check out the photographs!)  Don’t forget you can take your dog too - the owners are happy to accommodate two well behaved dogs.… there’s even a drying room with tap so you can wash off any muddy paws and boots.

The Old Mill House is in Wenhaston, a delightful village within easy reach of Southwold and Aldeburgh. This peaceful spot is perfect for walking with some great bird watching opportunities!. The local village pub, The Star Inn is within walking distance, a good option for lunch or dinner.

Don’t miss out on a trip to Southwold - stop off at one of the pubs and lunch or a quick pint, alternatively visit one of the lovely delis, grocers or bakers and pack up a picnic. A visit to Southwold wouldn’t be complete without heading off to the pier, dating back to the 1900’s, it was originally built as a landing point for the steamships which use to stop off at the town. Don’t forget to visit the lighthouse - this distinctive landmark at the centre of the town has been guiding vessels into the historical harbour since the late 1800’s.

If you’re looking for country escape with the beach in reach the Old Mills House is well worth a visit! The area is perfect for walkers, cyclists too with some lovely tracks and trails on the doorstep.
