4 Bell Lodge is a great choice for a family break in the magical village of Thorpeness with the fantastic beach and Meare.

Within walking distance of the beach, village pub and boating lake, 4 Bell Lodge can be found overlooking Thorpeness Country Club. With three bedrooms, this is a family friendly property in an excellent location and sleeps up to seven people and two dogs should the customer wish. An upside down house, making the most of the pretty Thorpeness views, 4 Bell Lodge’s living spaces can be found on the first floor. Entering from the stairs guests will find the dining room, whose heart is the large oak table, a wonderful area for wining and dining. With a half wall between the kitchen and dining room creating an open plan feel, guests can enjoy self-catering whilst socialising in the well-equipped kitchen. The large living room, complete with comfortable furnishings and a flat screen TV is an ideal place to sit back and unwind. Whether you prefer relaxing indoors or outdoors, you can do either as the living room leads out onto the balcony that overlooks the country club tennis courts. 

The four bedrooms are generously sized with comfortable beds. The master bedroom has the added bonus of an en suite bathroom, leaving the additional family bathroom to the remaining guests. Why We Love This Property: We love the balcony that overlooks Thorpeness Country Club's tennis courts. Guests can enjoy fuelling the day ahead with a scrummy breakfast as they umpire from the comfort of their holiday home.

Just a mile north of Aldeburgh is this fascinating seaside village, built in the 1920s by Glencairn Stuart Ogilvie, an architect, barrister and playwright. The mock Tudor style of the building is now the hallmark of Thorpeness, where the amenities include the Dolphin Inn, the Thorpeness Hotel with its 18-hole golf club, a country club with tennis courts and the Meare - a large shallow boating lake with tearooms nearby. The beaches are mainly sandy and behind the village is a myriad of footpaths over heath and common land.
