We were a group of 4 fishermen using the cottage as a base of stay whilst we fished lakes around the area . Cotrage was in a quiet location 2 minutes walk from 2 pubs . It was clean and quirky . Although I'm 6ft 4 and the only doors i didn't need to bend down to get through were the toilet and bathroom doors . Think i left a bit of my scalp on each door frame and low beam but would still stay again ...

Sherfield cottage is full of character and charm. Not the most comfortable place I have stayed in, mainly due to no proper shower, one loo, steep stairs and adjoining bedrooms. However, the property was clean and is better equipped than others I have visited. But the location of the property is fantastic , right on the footpath which takes you through the marshes, woods and earth. The river park takes you to Snape Maltings with its shops, Concert hall etc. Snape also has 3 pubs, which all do food. A thoroughly enjoyable stay

I’ve booked this cottage several times now and absolutely love it. It’s full of character and old fashioned charm. It’s not the most comfortable place; steep stairs, adjoining bedrooms, one loo, no proper standup shower. However, the kitchen is better equipped than more expensive places I have stayed. Above all, the location is perfect for exploring the local hearths, woods and the river Alde. Snape Maltings is close by and there are 3 pubs to choose from in the village, all doing food. Perhaps not suitable for those with mobility issues or the very young but otherwise, a wonderful spot for a staycation
