The Avocet is highly praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and prime location near the beach and coastal paths. Guests appreciate the quiet, tranquil setting and the property's accessibility features. The private garden and the provision of beach chairs are noted as thoughtful touches, enhancing the relaxing experience. While there is a minor issue with parking due to tree sap, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests looking forward to returning.
Guests consistently mention the property's cleanliness, describing it as 'extremely clean', 'clean and tidy', and 'clean, light and bright'. This indicates a high standard of cleanliness throughout the property.
The location is frequently highlighted as a major positive, with its proximity to the beach, coastal paths, and local attractions. The quiet and unspoilt area is perfect for a relaxing break and is well-received by guests.
Comfort is a strong point for The Avocet, with guests finding the property cosy, the beds extremely comfortable, and the overall atmosphere warm and welcoming.
The property is well-equipped, with a kitchen as good as most homes and additional facilities for disabled guests. However, one guest suggested an upgrade to a smart TV, indicating room for improvement in entertainment options.
While guests have mentioned a pleasant welcome with a bottle of wine and biscuits, as these gifts are not consistently referenced across all reviews, it cannot be guaranteed that such thoughtfulness is a standard practice for every stay.
In a peaceful, cliff-top location, by the edge of the beach, The Avocet is a charming single level apartment so perfect for a couple looking to escape to the restful Suffolk coastline.

Mr Dyson
My wife, dog and I had a relaxing weekend at The Avocet. Property and location as described. About 20 minute walk to The Dolphin, plus we did a number of walks around lovely Aldeburgh, Thorpeness and Sizewell. In the immediate area the largely sandy soil meant most places were not muddy which was good for March, but as our dog likes to run around and explore, the common warnings of adders would have been worrying if it had been high summer.
Mrs Aldridge
Very comfy, warm and well equipped. Excellent location for dog walking
Mr Morris
Loved the remoteness of the cottage and the closeness to the sea. Lots of lovely places to visit nearby. Wonderful wildlife all around. The cottage is ideal for person with disability with adaptations in the bathroom.
