Free from the stresses of everyday life you can be sure to switch off and unwind in this well equipped apartment. Relax in the sitting area and take in the view of the pretty shared garden, whilst in the bedroom you look out over the paddocks beyond. With plenty of storage for bicycles you have so much to discover right from your doorstep.

About the Property: Light and bright, this first floor apartment has the basic holiday necessities that you could need on your Suffolk adventure. With a newly fitted shower room and homely bedroom, this charming former cart lodge is truly sweet year round. Guests have access to the owners garden - perfect if you wish to sit out and read a book in the sunshine. With the windows open you may hear the occasional clip-clop of horses hooves as they ride past, or perhaps some of the beautiful birdsong that fills the air.

The sitting area is perfect for those cooler evenings - cuddle up in front of the TV and enjoy the Freesat and Netflix provided. The kitchen area has a selection of cookery equipment as well as a combi-oven with hob. 

The Cart Lodge is accessed by 13 steps from the parking area. There is a hand rail. 

Ideal for: Couples looking for a base to explore the delightful Suffolk county. For nature lovers, the river Alde runs through Iken and is home to a number of wildlife species. For those wishing to discover the river for themselves then you can hire canoes and kayaks from local Iken Canoe - a great opportunity. Just around the corner from The Cart Lodge too is Iken Bay Livery - why not go on a hack and see the surrounding area from a different perspective? 

For music lovers, Snape Maltings Concert Hall is a mere 10 minute drive away and hosts a year round programme of concerts and workshops. With plenty of retail outlets, a coffee shop, restaurant and pub you'll be sure to visit more than once during your stay. You can even walk to the Maltings by following the river, it should take just over half an hour. 

Eating and Drinking out: The nearby village of Snape is blessed with three fantastic pubs, all serving locally sourced cuisine daily. These include The Plough and Sail, The Golden Key and The Crown. 

If you fancy a drive, why not head to Aldeburgh? There are plenty of well known restaurant chains, as well as a handful of award winning independent restaurants and pubs, all waiting to welcome you. 

Self catering: Most big name supermarkets will deliver to The Cart Lodge but if you fancy supporting local business we recommend heading to Friday Street Farm Shop. Selling a selection of fruit, vegetables and complete with deli and butchery. In Orford, you can find the famous Pump Street Bakery - we recommend trying the rhubarb doughnuts before you leave!
