Wonderfully well equipped with all you could possibly need for a holiday in Suffolk, Alde Cottage is truly a home-from-home. Complete with off-street parking, generous garden and woodburning stove.
If you're looking for a holiday destination with a mix of seaside charm and stunning countryside, look no further than this delightful cottage situated in the village of Friston. Nestled in peaceful rural Suffolk, it's the perfect place to escape for families and groups of friends alike. Three cosy bedrooms sleep up to six lucky guests, and there are lots of comfortable places to spread out and enjoy some downtime, whether inside or out in the vast garden.
Take a step through the door into the relaxing lounge/diner, where you can recline in front of the TV or warm yourself by the wood burner. Enjoy a few tunes or make yourself a cup of coffee with the state-of-the-art machine in the kitchen. This fully equipped space comes with everything you need to make delicious meals at your leisure. Also on the ground floor is a wet room. Up the steep stairs, you'll find a family bathroom, plus a twin bedroom, a double bedroom, and a king-size bedroom accessed via another two steps. Outside, you can soak up some rays of sunshine whilst admiring the picturesque country views and lighting the BBQ. You'll also find an outhouse here, with a washing machine and tumble dryer, as well as enough space to store any bikes.
Just 4 miles away, Aldeburgh is a classic coastal town where you can hire a boat, or simply relax by the sea. The nearby village of Thorpeness (5 miles) is an ideal destination for a leisurely day trip, boasting an alluring charm. Snape Maltings, 3 miles away, offers a medley of shop outlets, eateries and its acclaimed concert hall. For an insight into the area's history, wander 10 miles east to the site of Dunwich. This once-thriving medieval port is now almost entirely submerged and is an incredible sight.

Lovely comfortable cottage in a good location 10 minutes from the coast. Very well equipped with a great garden

The main oven didn’t seem to work - not a major impact. Shower room was located downstairs… but more pluses than negatives, main draw was the outdoor space and comfortable outdoor furniture was the big plus for us along with plenty of Crockery and a big American style fridge freezer, great location.

We loved Alde Cottage. The cottage is very well equipped and with tasteful and comfortable decor and furnishings. The garden is lovely, perfect for parents to relax while the kids play. The wine and biscuits were gratefully devoured on arrival. The village is just five mins from Saxmundham and Snape and about ten mins from Aldeburgh. The pub in the village is nice. There are plenty of lovely walks around the village and further afield. We spent a very happy week here and would love to visit again.
