About this property

Beautifully furnished with uninterrupted sea views makes Moot Green House in Aldeburgh a very special place and the perfect choice for your holiday.

Moot Green House, situated on Crag Path in Aldeburgh just a stone's throw away from the beach on the Suffolk coast, is a duplex apartment with breath-taking sea views and modern furnishings throughout including a fully equipped kitchen for all your self-catering needs. Part of an imposing Edwardian seafront terrace, the entrance of this holiday home overlooks the 16th century Moot Hall, once the centre of Aldeburgh. Moot Green House has been renovated to a very high standard offering a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere for the perfect seaside holiday ideal for any family or group of friends. The upside-down arrangement of the accommodation means that from the sitting room on the first floor you get uninterrupted sea views. Beautiful at any time of year. The neighbouring property was once the home of Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears and it was here, overlooking the sea, that Britten composed some of his finest works. Just outside the door, on Moot Green, children can enjoy the simple pleasures of the boating pond while the adults can plan their seafront walk to purchase the catch of the day. Shop: 100 yards Pub: 100 yards.

Aldeburgh and the surrounding area has inspired many authors and poets in the past but the most famous son of the town is Benjamin Britten who founded the Aldeburgh Music Festival which now has worldwide acclaim and is held every year in June at Snape Maltings. Fishermen still pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from the picturesque huts. The wide, mainly Georgian high street has many attractive buildings whilst the seafront properties all have commanding views of the beach and the North Sea. Boating is popular on the nearby Alde estuary where a large variety of yachts can be seen at summer weekends.
