"Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the old cow shed very quiet area with cycling aplenty the accommodation was clean quiet and warm will be going again in the new year. Would recommend this as a get away from it all very pleased with my holiday. Thanks to Geir and Louise."

"we thought the Old Cow Shed was lovely and provided everything we, two plus two dogs, wanted for a 3 night stay. It was quaint, cosy and fun, had a pub and wee shop 200 yds away and a lovely dedicated dog walking area two minutes walk. Highly recommended for a nesty springboard into Suffolk; and the hosts were marvellous too."

"Nice place to stay and owners left dog treats, cider and milk which was nice. However, I would recommend they change their cleaning company as it's acceptable to have cobwebs & dust in high to reach areas but TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE to have the amount seen under the bedside table when I dropped an earring (cobwebs & dust like that take sometime to build up!!) and under the sofa - seen when I was doing yoga. Apart from that, the barn was cosy and comfortable and in a nice location with lots of nice walks for dogs. The local pub is definitely worth a visit - very friendly & extremely delicious food."

"Loved our stay. And so did the dogs. Especially the 60 acre field a few minutes walk away. Everything you could possibly need provided and the cider and biscuits were most welcome.."

"It was what it said on the tin, i.e. an Old Cow Shed. We loved it, but if your expectations are 5 star then it's not for you. It took you back in time and gave an insight into rural life of a time gone by. If you are a dog owner then it's the place to go, good walking on the doorstep, good pub up the road. The cottage was warm and cosy, quirky to say the least, if you like this sort of place then go for it.We will use it again."

"Nice welcome, owners lovely. Nice cottage with plenty of room, bed really comfy and cottage nice and quiet to relax in.Would be nice if there was a little paddock to let the dogs loose in for a run about, but as there is a park that's only a short walk away it's not really an issue. There are a lot of walks in the area and a lovely little pub up the road (that also does takeaway food), with a community shop that has all the essentials."

"A cute place that’s comfortable and dog friendly. The owners were gracious and friendly. Bicycle riding around there was great, as well. We highly recommend."

"The old cow shed is set in a lovely Suffolk village and is an ideal base to explore by foot or car. It has everything you need inside for a short break. The owners are lovely and are close by if required but give you the privacy to enjoy your break. The setting is just perfect for dog walking. We were out walking on the fens at sunrise each morning which is such a nice setting. The bed is comfortable and you can park right next to the accomodation which is very convenient. The local cider, biscuits, milk and sweets etc that were left for us was a very nice touch. Highly recommended for a Suffolk break to relax and get away from busy city life. Chill in the countryside. Less than an hour from the beach too."

"Beautiful little cottage in a quiet little village with a very nice pub 5 minutes walk away. About 45 minutes to an hour to the coast, lots of nice local walking with lots of dog friendly pubs."
    Christine ‐ 12 Jul 2019
"We had a wonderful 5 days at the Old Cow Shed. It is comfortable, well equipped, spacious and has lots of character. I loved the solid wood beams, furnishing and practical layout of the place. We found lots of walks for the dogs and enjoyed the tranquil surroundings. Highly recommended."
    Tony ‐ 28 Jun 2019
"Nice, practical dog friendly accommodation. The Old Cow Shed was well equipped, very spacious and well located in a village with a pub and a shop. Good wifi and TV signal. Plenty of hot water and towels etc.A minor comment concerns the curtains in the bedroom did not close fully so let the early morning light in.Also a local OS map in the cottage would have been useful as we forgot to buy one beforehand and couldn't find one anywhere that we went.A cake and a couple of bottles of local cider in the fridge on arrival were much appreciated.Overall a very enjoyable stay."
    Carol ‐ 22 Jun 2019
"Excellent holiday, on arrival a nice little packup of Milk, tea and biscuits was waiting along with 2 bottles of Cider chilling in the fridge. The cottage was quiet, clean, tidy and warm, with under floor heating and contained everthing you needed to survive for 5 days. Quite a few pubs nearby, the one in the village 5 minute walk and served good food. The owner thought of everything, it rained all the time but brollies where in the cottage, kept us dry on trips out. The info folder was handy to plan trips out. Overall excellent holiday despite the rain and would visit again."
    Ewin ‐ 21 Jun 2019
"Dust and cobwebs.windows dirty.and glasses.out of date products in cupboard.for 3 nights it was quite expensive. But it was cosy.underfloor heating good."

"We had a lovely time in Thorndon. The cottage is centrally located in terms of visiting a variety of places. It is very quiet with plenty of space and well equipped. We would recommend it without reservation."
    Edith ‐ 20 Apr 2019
"A delightful place for a quiet get away. Good, caring but not intrusive owners. Warm and comfortable whatever the weather and with paving and gravel outside which helps not to bring lots of mud indoors if you happen to have a long haired dog like mine."
