Cheddleton is a lovely village to explore, with the Churnet Valley Railway and some stunning walks and cycle trails taking you through the moorlands. Just a short drive away is the market town of Leek, which offers a wide selection of shops, including fascinating antiques emporia, bookshops and galleries, along with a number of restaurants and real ale pubs. A little further on is the fantastic Roaches, which is ideal for walking, climbing and mountain biking, or just as a place where you can admire and take in outstanding views and scenery. Tittesworth Reservoir and visitor centre is just six miles away, and Alton Towers is also within driving distance. This delightful holiday home is an excellent base for exploring all that Staffordshire has to offer.
The market town of Leek is situated on the western side of The Peak District National Park and is surrounded by lovely Moorland countryside. The town has a charming cobbled market place and there are many examples of fine Victorian architecture - a reminder of the town's prosperity when it was renowned as a silk manufacturing centre. Today Leek offers a wide selection of shops including vast antique emporiums, bookshops and galleries and there is good selection of restaurants and real ale pubs. Alton Towers is less than 20 minutes drive away.
