About this property

Beautiful semi-detached stone cottage, situated in the Staffordshire town of Biddulph. The stylish design and well-kept garden make it an ideal property for any families wishing to travel into the Staffordshire Moorlands countryside or over the border to Cheshire or Derbyshire.

Hurst Cottage’s homely feel is felt throughout the property, with guests able to sit down and relax in either the stylish conservatory or comfortable sitting room in front of the TV and flame feature fire. While the open-plan kitchen/diner makes meal time easy, there’s even a rather nice conservatory with table and chairs, giving guests an additional option for meal times. Guests will find that the property has three bedrooms, with a single located on the ground floor, while on the first floor there’s a twin bedroom and a double, with the double overlooking the garden and also offering views of the countryside. However, the property’s best feature is its well-maintained terraced garden, which features plenty of colour. It's tranquil setting is the ideal place to enjoy a drink with a loved one, or get away from everything with a good book.

And should you not be able to get enough of scenic surroundings, then why not take in Biddulph Grange? The National Trust site is located just a quarter of a mile away from the property. The Victorian Garden has something for all of the family, and contains beautiful plants from all over the world.A must do is to embark on the Dahlia Walk, while the Egyptian Garden is also worth checking out.Though be careful, the entrance is guarded by two Sphinx! The Cheshire market town of Congleton is also not too far away from the property, with its fine pubs and restaurants.

Meanwhile, the city of Stoke-on-Trent is just short drive away, head into the Six Towns to one of its Pottery Museums, or for something completely different, why not take the children to Trentham Monkey Forest, home to 140 Barbary macaques! Hurst Cottage combines tradition, modern design and beautiful views, making it the ideal retreat for a break in the Staffordshire Moorlands.

Biddulph is known as the Garden Town of Staffordshire and prides itself on the floral display throughout the town which can be seen from spring through to late autumn. There are plenty of places to visit from the National Trust owned Biddulph Grange, featuring oriental pergolas and Scottish glens, to Biddulph Old Hall which was constructed in the 1500's. The town has country parks to explore, and the short distance to the Peak District National Park makes it a hit with hikers. Jodrell Bank Observatory is just 15 miles away with Alton Towers 22 miles. All within easy reach are the Staffordshire Moorlands, Derbyshire and the Pennines, and for a day out, why not visit Chester, Liverpool or Manchester.

Cottage large did have facilities although some minor adjustments could make all the difference. TV has continuous red line on left of screen. Cushion on sofa needs cleaning after each stay, also smelt of personal sweat. Rug corner turned up on corner, hazard. Cutlery very old and not user friendly with round handles, tray marked and needs replacing. Toaster far to small. There was plenty of utensils. Downstairs bedroom very handy. Bed needs better pillows and could of been accessorised better. Shower unit broken in places and needs attention very tired looking. Would not of hesitated to give a 4star had the the attention for detail been upgraded. Very clean and relaxed environment would not be put off visiting again.

Spacious light and clean . Bedding and beds very comfortable with enough towels. Owners only next door if needed . Nice welcome basket on arrival .Plenty of places to visit near by . With Buxton Bakewell and Matlock within a hour. The Talbot pub nearby good for food. Biddulph has plenty of supermarkets for essentials.

It is furnished to a high spec. The cottage is spacious, we are a family of five (with three teenagers) and we had plenty of room. Great for exploring the area around Congleton and one hour by car to the centre of Manchester, which suited our needs. We can highly recommend this cottage, you won't be disappointed.
