    About this property

If you are coming away as a large group, Sugnall Hall gives you a taste of living as the landed gentry might have done, with impressive features like an oak-panelled dining room, four acres of grounds and a charming Flower Passage with its long, lantern roof light. Both the dining room and the drawing room have large, open fireplaces, ideal for creating a cosy setting in the chillier months. All but three of the large bedrooms have their own en-suites, and many of the super king beds can be separated to create twin beds too. Despite the period charms of Sugnall Hall, the property has lots of contemporary comforts, with a hot tub for seven on the decking, and large projection screen in the billiard room.
With panoramic views across the unspoilt Staffordshire countryside, you might choose to spend most of your time away in the grounds, enjoying the amenities at Sugnall Hall. If you want to venture further afield, many of the main attractions of the north-west Midlands are within easy reach, with the M6 just a 15 minute drive away.
Smaller groups of up to 14 people can book Sugnall Hall (14 Guests).

    Attractions and nearby amenities

    • Eccleshall is a historic Staffordshire market town nestled in the beautiful Sow Valley. There’s a farmers’ market here every fourth Saturday of the month, and there are plenty of independent shops and boutiques to explore, with a good choice of restaurants, pubs and cafés.

    • If you’d like to get out on the water or just enjoy the scenery, Aston Marina is set on the banks of the Trent and Mersey canal, on the outskirts of the historic market town of Stone. There’s an on-site restaurant and bar, and the chefs have built up quite a reputation for their seasonal and locally-sourced fare.

    • The attractive market town of Stone is just a short drive away from Sugnall Hall. Situated on the Trent and Mersey Canal, the town has a proud heritage and is now a haven for food lovers, with regular farmers’ markets and an Autumn Food and Drink Festival.

    • Over the border in Shropshire is the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford. It’s a fun day out for all the family, with wartime hangars filled with displays and aircraft. You can learn some of the stories of the brave people who have served in the RAF. It’s free to enter too.

    • If you’re green-fingered or you just like a stroll with a view, Trentham Gardens are formal, Italianate gardens that stretch over 300 acres or so. Originally designed by Capability Brown, the remaining gardens are mainly Victorian and were recently restored during the Diamond Jubilee.

    • Hawkstone Park Follies is how theme parks looked 200 years ago. The owner built a series of rugged and ruined monuments to embellish the landscape of cliffs and crags. It’s a magical and slightly bewildering walk. Bring a picnic!

    • At Sugnall Hall, you’re not far from the Potteries, one of the manufacturing hubs of the country in the Industrial Revolution. The World of Wedgwood showcases some of that heritage, with craftsmanship that’s still going strong today. You can try your hand at making your own pottery masterpiece too.
