The Weston Park Foundation, the independent charitable trust that owns and maintains the estate has given each property a new lease of life balancing comfort and modernity whilst remaining sympathetic to their extraordinary heritage thus providing a rare opportunity to stay in the heart of this historical estate.
Set in 1,000 acres of Capability Brown Parkland, Weston Park is a stately home, events venue, visitor attraction and luxury get away all rolled into one. At certain times of the year you will need to share the estate with a wide variety of events that take place in and around the Parkland. This where the Gardens team would have stored their equipment and stopped for a well-earned cup of tea and a rest.
With its exposed brick and old country wooden floor the Gardener’s Both has been given a warm scheme with unique touches including a table made out of an antique grape bin.
Entering the property through large glazed doors the open plan living space features a hi-spec kitchen, wood burning stove, sheep skin rugs and a comfy sofa. The large bedroom has a luxurious en-suite bathroom with a bath made for two, heated floors, twin sinks and soft lighting.

"This was our second visit to the Gardener's Bothy and it is still relaxed luxury. It was a great place to welcome in the New year and we loved the Christmas tree and table decoration in the cottage. New Years Eve lunch at the Granary Grill was excellent."

"We stayed at the Gardener's Bothy over Christmas. The property was as expected from the photo's. The decor was beautiful, there were plenty of logs for the stove and it was great living on one level. We had access to the grounds of Weston Park and as the house and gardens were closed we had the whole estate to ourselves. We ate at the Granary on the first night. We were the on diners, but it was the Thursday before Christmas. The food was ok but nothing special. This property is highly recommended having stayed in 100's of cottages in the past."

"The best cottage we have stayed in - and there have been many! The Bothy has been beautifully transformed into a fantastically spacious home from home. The furnishings and fittings are high spec, and reflect the original building's purpose. We loved quirky touches such as the metal dining table and the barrel side table. Also the designs on the curtains and blinds, and the standard lamps in the sitting room.We appreciated the lovely hamper and toiletries, which were a real treat. The standard of housekeeping was extremely impressive - we are going to return in the new year!"

"Beautifully decorated and immaculately clean . Everything you could want from a holiday cottage except for a less than generous quantity of china and cutlery."

"The Gardener's Bothy was spotless. Housekeeping should be proud of themselves. If I was to niggle it would be to say that the sheet did not fit the bed very well and it had a hole in it, easy to miss when you are rushing and there is a white mattress protector underneath. We loved the tranquillity of the Bothy, the grounds and the gardens. We have definitely found our bolthole! Highly recommend."

"Beautifully appointed property in a lovely, quiet setting on a magnificent estate. Exceptionally spacious for two and perfect for a few days away with friends in the adjoining property. Good restaurant only a 10 minute walk away on the estate. Excellent location for walking, sightseeing and visiting the foodie capital of Britain, Ludlow. Definitely in the top three of the fifteen or so Rural Retreats properties we have stayed in."

"Beautiful cottage, I wanted to move in. Great location, few tips to make the stay better would be a better map from the cottage to find the way to the granary and bike storage. The cottage has almost everything but I would have liked a tea pot.Tip to future visitors, don't rely on using the granary deli for food it's not that well stocked, we couldn't get a loaf of bread and not much to make a meal with."

"This place is special, I've stayed in many Rural Retreat properties over the years and this is one of the best. The property is a new conversion and it's obvious that it's been carefully thought through at the planning stages. The result is stylish decor, quality fixtures and fittings, efficient heating, plentiful hot water. As it was for a booking at Christmas I scrutinised the particulars before I booked and I can honestly say the property exceeded my expectations. It's a little gem and I'm already planning a return visit. Being able to walk around the vast grounds was also a bonus. Good luck finding the cutlery drawer!!"

"An absolutely delightful cottage in a gorgeous estate. Loved it and have already booked for another visit! Our only tiny niggles were: the 13.5 tog duvet which was far too heavy. We asked the housekeeper if she could find something lighter but nothing happened. Perhaps they could supply a 9 + 4.5 "combination" duvet so you could select the appropriate weight for individual tastes; andthe pillows which felt soft to the touch but, very unexpectedly, felt very hard indeed to your head !"

"Could have been excellent but we rang a week in advance as requested, asked for a lightweight duvet and arrived to find a 13.5 duvet - dreadful couldn't use it. Also asked about phone line, to be advised no landline but all mobiles worked there - we use 2 different systems and neither had signal inside - had to pay out £24 to use Skype phone through wifi. Big problem with fibres all over from huge wool rugs in both rooms - was like having a dog around moulting all the time - nice idea but not one that works in practice. Otherwise nice concept and lovely surroundings."
