Crown Cottage, Exford (Somerset) offers comfortable self-catering accommodation for up to 4 guests in the heart of Exmoor, in the popular village of Exford.
Accommodation
Downstairs, the sitting room is very cosy, with a stone-built fireplace and wood-burning stove. The wood burner will be laid for your first fire and additional logs are available locally. There is a window seat which overlooks the village green. A smart TV, Freesat box, DVD player, WiFi, and a range of board games and DVDs are provided.
The dining room has a pine table and four chairs. The kitchen comprises all the equipment needed for a self-catering holiday, including a full-sized electric cooker, fridge, washing machine, and microwave.
Upstairs, the main bedroom has a Victorian style double bed, with luxury memory foam mattress, fitted wardrobe, bedside tables and a chest of drawers. The second bedroom has twin beds, a clothes rail, bedside table and built-in drawers.
The shower room contains a large shower cubicle, toilet, built-in vanity unit with electric shaver point, towel radiator, and extractor fan.
Duvets, pillows, bed linen, bath towels, and tea towels are included in the price, as is electricity costs. The cottage is heated by electric heaters throughout, plus the wood-burner in the sitting room. Hot water is provided by an under sink electric heater. A small welcome pack is also included.
Well behaved dogs are welcome for £15 additional charge per dog (2 dogs maximum). Dogs are not allowed on the furniture, upstairs (stair gate provided) or to be left in the property unattended at any time. Please bring your own dog bed and towels.
Smoking is not permitted in the cottage or garden.

The perfect base for Exmoor, lots of amenities in the village. A playground with an excellent range of play equipment is on the green opposite. Two pubs to choose from, a cafe and a shop. A playground with an excellent range of play equipment is on the green opposite. Two pubs to choose from, a cafe and a shop. A very characterful cottage, enhanced by the frequent horses clippy-cloppying down the street outside. Tall people will need to learn to duck now and then moving around the cottage. I'm 6ft 4 and managed not to hit my head! Lots of nice walks starting from Exford, either up onto the moor or through wooded coombes.

We had a lovely stay at Crown Cottage in Exford. The cottage was very cosy, described perfectly and had everything we needed for 2 adults and 2 dogs. The welcome basket was very welcome and set us up perfectly! The location is great, being so close to the village shop and 2 lovely pubs. Walking t.... Walking the dogs was a joy with such beautiful countryside on the doorstep. We'll definitely be booking Crown Cottage again.
