About this property

This stylish semi-detached cottage is situated beside the water’s edge at the end of a cobbled lane in Lympstone. Over three levels and with great views to Powderham Castle and Starcross, it is a relaxing cottage for families or anyone looking to explore the area. On the ground floor is a comfy sitting room with wood burning stove, from which you step up into the dining room. The smart kitchen is small but well equipped for preparing meals. Steep stairs lead you up and under a low door lintel into a double bedroom with those water views, then up again to a big bedroom under the eaves where you can sit comfortably and watch the sun set. Outside you can enjoy outdoor dining in your small paved and walled seating area. The views of life on the water are fascinating, or wander round to the estuary and harbour for even more interest. Browse the shops and pubs in the village or head to Exmouth with its sandy beaches, traditional seaside attractions and town amenities, or the cathedral city of Exeter. Walk or cycle on the Coast Path or play golf on a choice of courses. 1 The Quay is a smashing cottage to enjoy all year round, for peace or interest.

The pretty village of Lympstone is on the eastern bank of the estuary of the River Exe, equidistant between the regency town of Topsham and the family friendly, seaside resort of Exmouth where you'll find everything required by the visitor for a relaxing break

Plenty of space and loved the open fire. The lighting in the cottage was really good and the whole cottage was light and airy. The view from the cottage was outstanding. We have never had a place so close to water before and we could have sat and watched the view of the estuary all day long. The cottage is in such a peaceful setting and has a railway station in the village offering good links to the local area. Kate was a fantastic host and the wine and chocolates were a lovely touch. You will be guaranteed a lovely stay at this cottage.

Looking out at the changing tide by the river is mesmerising. The cottage is modern and well equipped. There are lots of walks from the house so you don’t always need to use your car. We enjoyed eating at The Swan Inn and the Puffing Billy.
