Sally Port Cottage is highly praised for its stunning, private location and unique experience of staying near a lighthouse. Guests appreciate the comfortable, well-equipped accommodation and the observation room. The serene environment is perfect for relaxation and enjoying nature, with easy access to the beach and coastal walks. While some minor maintenance issues and a lack of some essentials were noted, the overall experience is cherished, with many planning to return.
Most guests found the cottage to be clean and tidy, with a welcoming atmosphere. However, a few guests mentioned specific cleanliness issues upon arrival, such as food crumbs and stains, which slightly affected the overall impression.
The location is consistently described as stunning, private, and ideal for nature lovers. The proximity to the sea, wildlife sightings, and the lighthouse contribute to a unique and highly valued setting.
Guests report the cottage as comfortable and cosy, with a warm and inviting interior. Some concerns were raised about the comfort of the beds and the warmth of the cottage, but these were relatively minor compared to the overall positive feedback.
The facilities are generally well-received, with the observation room being a highlight. However, guests have pointed out issues with garden furniture, a small TV, and some maintenance needs, suggesting room for improvement.
While guests mention welcome baskets and toiletries, there is insufficient information to determine consistency or the level of thoughtfulness in providing these gifts. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that such amenities will always be provided.
Proudly presented in association with Trinity House, this special property is situated at the furthest point of the beautiful Roseland Peninsula. The lighthouse is still operational, however Sally Port Cottage offers you a totally private holiday home in a stunningly beautiful and unique location.
In association with Trinity House, we are pleased to present Sally Port Cottage at St Anthony's Lighthouse, situated at the furthest point of the beautiful Roseland Peninsula.
Sally Port Cottage is a single dwelling, reached via a 300-metre steep tarmac path leading down to the rocks from the headland above, where the car park is situated. The Lighthouse, for those of you who remember, was the location for 'Fraggle Rock' (the children's television programme, shown some years ago).
The accommodation is totally private with no public access. There is an observation room, which has a large picture window and is furnished with table and chairs, and an electric wood-effect stove so that you can be snug whilst watching the worst of any storms.
Additional Information:
Ideal for a romantic retreat, with observation room (detached from the property) with large windows overlooking fantastic sea views.
Children over 14 years are welcome. Sorry, no infants.
Two well-behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge).
This is an operational lighthouse with an automatic electronic fog signal. During occasional periods of fog and mist, ear plugs are provided for your comfort.
Please note:
Very limited mobile signal. A landline telephone is provided.
Given the remote locations of our cottages the Wi-Fi speed and availability cannot be guaranteed at this site The service offered is for light browsing and occasional use, services such as streaming and gaming may not be possible owing to the speeds obtainable.
Access roads to the lighthouse site are narrow with limited passing places and, dependent on the season and site, there is the possibility of overhanging vegetation due to cutting restrictions during bird breeding seasons or other environmental reasons.
Guests should be aware that the lighthouses and equipment need regular and sometimes emergency maintenance. Therefore visits by maintenance staff may occur at any time during the year. However, staff will do their best to ensure guest privacy at all times.
Guests are reminded they are renting a heritage building, therefore certain features such as steps, stairs and floor levels may not comply with that of a modern building. As such, we would advise guests to acquaint themselves with the premises on arrival and exercise caution accordingly.
A barbecue is not provided, however guests are welcome to bring their own, subject to adhering to the safety precautions set out in the arrival information.
Sorry, no fireworks, drones or remote controlled flying equipment are permitted.
Parking - the access path to the cottage can be found behind the bird and wildlife information board on the right at the far end of the car park, opposite the property on the left. It is 300m uphill from the cottage.
The steep path from the car park is not suitable for infirm or disabled guests and sensible shoes should be worn when using the pathway. (We suggest guests use luggage with wheels due to uneven surface of the path). It is not possible to drive down to the cottage.
Sorry, charging of electric cars is not permitted.

Would have given five stars if the double bed was more comfortable and not 2 single mattresses together.

The lighthouse cottage is in a fantastic location, but we had a few problems when we arrived. Toilet seat broken, which was rectified the next day. Food crumbs in baking tray, food remnants around cooker controls. Wall heaters in hallway and kitchen didn't work. Rug in lounge area was stained and stains on bedroom chair cushions. For the amount of money we spent everything should have been perfect. Fantastic place, but let down by these things.

A great location. a lovely sunny garden. well appointed. A lovely sand beach 10 kins walk to have a dip in the morning. A piece of ribbon or key ring on the house key would not go amiss
