Guests say

Veryan Cottage in Fowey is highly praised for its stunning views, central location, and recent renovations. Guests appreciate the well-appointed interiors, comfortable beds, and thoughtful kitchen equipment. The terraces are a highlight, offering relaxation and scenic vistas. Access involves steep steps, which may not suit everyone, and space can be tight for larger groups. Despite minor issues with TV channels and bedding preferences, the cottage's charm and proximity to local amenities make it a beloved choice for visitors to Cornwall.

Guests consistently note the cottage as being immaculate and very clean, indicating high standards of cleanliness.

The central location is appreciated for its convenience to town, shops, and beaches, despite the challenging steep access.

The cottage is praised for comfortable beds and cosy living spaces, though some guests mention it may be cramped for four adults.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with high-quality fittings and well-equipped kitchens. However, the lack of terrestrial TV channels and preference for different bed linen slightly affect the score.

While the reviews reflect a well-equipped kitchen and other conveniences, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would fall under the category of thoughtfulness, so this score cannot be provided.

About this property

Boasting breathtaking views across the Fowey Estuary, nestled just metres away from the water in the heart of town, this charming coastal cottage offers a fusion of tranquillity and adventure, perfect for families and groups of friends eager to answer the call of the sea.

Occupying the upper two floors of a historic building, this Cornish hideaway offers both peace and sophistication in equal measure. Beneath the traditional stone exterior, you’ll find a haven of contemporary charm in the ground-floor kitchen/diner which has everything you need to whip up a seafood feast using ingredients from the local shops nearby. When it’s time to unwind after dinner, head upstairs where a delightful lounge space awaits with superb views over Fowey and its glistening waters. Relax here in front of the Smart TV, and when it’s time for bed, choose from two welcoming bedrooms - one on the ground floor, one on the first floor. The ground-floor bedroom boasts a king-size bed with an en-suite shower room, while upstairs awaits a peaceful twin room which is served by a separate shower room that completes the interior. Outside, with a glass of something special, savour the stunning views overlooking the town from the idyllic garden, set over two levels, accessed from the steps leading down to the front or from the terrace at the rear.

The charming fishing town of Fowey boasts harbourside restaurants serving the daily catch, fabulous local shops and some beautiful seaside scenery, famous as the inspiration for Kenneth Grahame’s ‘The Wind in the Willows’. Explore St Catherine’s Castle (1 mile) to be rewarded with superb views across the Fowey Estuary or acquaint yourself with the local area by sailing the river via the car ferry to uncover the breathtaking charm of the fishing villages of Looe (12 miles) and Polperro (7 miles).

Absolutely delightful cottage, in a perfect location. The owners have thought carefully about the comfort of their guests and everything is catered for, a truly 5 star experience. Tastefully furnished and decorated; the window box in the lounge has an award winning view & I spent many hours gazing over Fowey sipping my coffee. We will definitely return.

Cottage lovely but access extremely challenging .Cottage is finished and furnished to a high standard and is fully equipped and very comfortable and the location is very handy to all local amenities and Fowey is delightful and I would recommend to friend but warn about acess

Veryan Cottage exceeded our expectations. It was very clean and cosy with an excellent finish in terms of decoration and living room furniture and has a well equipped kitchen area. The main bed was really comfortable and the shower rooms were great. We greatly appreciated having the outdoor shower for our small dog. The location of the cottage is good in that it's close to the harbour and main shopping street but (like most places in Fowey) vehicular access is difficult for un-loading upon arrival and then loading up on leaving day.
