About this property

Tucked away down a single track road and on the grounds of the owners’ property, Hope Cottage is set in the heart of the West Sussex countryside. This stylish bolthole is the perfect base from which to explore The South Downs, Brighton and the surrounding area of outstanding natural beauty.

Stroll down the path towards the double doors of Hope Cottage and you’ll probably be met by the scent of lavender and roses all around you. This charming cottage plunges you into the beauty of the Sussex Downs. Inside, the open plan living and dining area is a light and airy space with exposed oak beams. There are plenty of modern touches of luxury too, including Farrow and Ball paints on the walls, Smeg appliances in the kitchen and handmade linen on the beds.

To keep you snug and warm whatever the weather, there’s a wood burning stove in the living room with complimentary wood for your stay. With underfloor heating throughout as well, so you can kick your shoes off and feel the Indian limestone flooring beneath your feet.

Hope Cottage puts you in a walker’s paradise, with walks right from the cottage door. The Fountain pub just a 20-minute stroll away, over the river, and the village of Henfield is also accessible by foot, where you’ll be able to pick up food and provisions from the local shops. When you’ve stretched those legs, make your way back to your home-from-home and freshen up under the luxurious rain shower or simply relax on the comfortable sofa while you plan your next day’s adventures.
