About this property

This exceptional holiday cottage is in the heart of both Bosham village and Chichester Harbour. A sailor's paradise and a perfect base for those who love the coast, wildlife and endless walks

This beautifully presented home was the perfect holiday retreat for its owners who love their sailing, and spending their weekends in Bosham. So much so they decided to relocate permanently to this area of outstanding natural beauty and enjoy life to the full.

Manorside is now available for your enjoyment and is set up perfectly. It is beautifully furnished and enjoys an ideal central location in this picturesque of quayside villages. The living room, dining area and kitchen make a stunning social space with full width bi-fold doors that open onto the garden. For up to six guests it offers spacious accommodation to relax in complete comfort. At the front of the cottage there is a second living room or 'snug', somewhere private to rest, watch some TV, or leave the children to spend time on their own. With a finish to this standard you would expect it to be comprehensively equipped, and it certainly is down to every last detail that includes a modern electric aga, and a large wine cooler in the dining room.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms and in addition a small study should anyone need a quiet area to work or deal with everyday correspondence while away. The two main bedrooms have super king sized beds, one of which is zip linked so can be set as a twin bedroom if required. Bedroom three is fitted with twin beds. There is an ensuite bathroom to the main bedroom which has a bath with a power shower fitted above. The family bathroom is similarly fitted with a bath and shower above.

Bosham and beyond

Bosham is a very pretty quayside village and forms part of an area of outstanding natural beauty within Chichester Harbour. Wildlife and sailing co-exist at ease, this is a popular area for watersports from small sailing craft to the mooring of much larger yachts. The harbour consists of a number of tidal creeks and Bosham is probably the best known of the quayside villages. From Manorside it is a short walk down to the quayside. The coast road around the quay floods twice daily giving Bosham a changing outlook between low and high water. The church which is prominent in the village dates back to Saxon times, the earliest parts having been constructed during Canute’s reign and it is the only church to be depicted in the Bayeux Tapestry.

Bosham is always bustling and is a joy to be part of. The arts and craft centre, a popular visitor attraction contains many small craft shops with their own speciality and the Anchor Bleu pub which is so central to the village and the quay is popular for lunches and has that ‘local’ atmosphere in the evenings.

To walk the coast road around Bosham Reach is a delight offering fine views of the village and beyond towards the South Downs. You will soon arrive at Bosham Hoe and can take the foot ferry that connects with Itchenor, another popular sailing centre.

A short distance from Bosham is Chichester, the streets are made up of listed buildings that radiate from the centre. Chichester is a cathedral city and the cathedral makes an imposing presence over the city.

We had a wonderful week at Manorside. The house has been upgraded to a very high specification. It was spotlessly clean with crisp white linen on the comfy beds and thick fluffy towels. The kitchen was very well equipped, with Aga and high quality appliances. There was plenty of space for 5 of us to comfortably sit together in the sitting room or to watch films in the TV room. The great weather enabled us to open up the sliding doors and transform the dining area into part of the lovely garden. In two minutes walk, you are by the waters edge, great for sailors and those who just wish to stroll and watch. There is plenty to see and do in the area. I highly recommend Manorside.
