About this property

The perfect cottage for two people, in the heart of Angmering, and just a short walk from the village amenities

Flint Court is a delightful flint cottage down a private country lane, partially adjoining the owners’ home and set within gated grounds. On entering the cottage there is a feeling of light as many of the rooms have windows on two sides. The front door leads to an entrance lobby and thence into a modern kitchen, perfectly suited to your holiday needs. The bathroom with basin, large bath with shower attachment and WC leads off in one direction, and the spacious sitting/dining room opens from the kitchen in the other direction. Beyond this room is another comfortable sitting room, with TV. At the end of the cottage is a lovely double bedroom.

There is a private terrace reserved for guests at Flint Court adjacent to the front door, it's a great place to grab a spot of sunlight, especially in the afternoons.

Angmering and beyond

This Sussex village has much to offer. There are few villages that still retain a parade of shops, their local store and local newsagent. In addition two local pubs are within walking distance and the Angmering Manor Hotel is just a short stroll. It’s all on the doorstep!

Angmering is well placed, close to the coast, close to the South Downs. The beaches at Rustington and Littlehampton are within a ten minute drive with Climping just that bit beyond across the estuary of the River Arun.

Climping Beach is a beautiful unspoilt length of beach of Special Scientific Interest and at the eastern end beside the mouth of the River Arun is the West Beach Café at Littlehampton built by local craftsmen using materials sourced locally. It is worth a visit, the fish and chips come highly recommended!

Immediately north of Angmering the South Downs are completely accessible with many fine walks from the neighbouring villages of Patching and Clapham. To reach the South Downs Way there is a steady climb giving views back to the coast while the crescent shaped chalk escarpment at Long Furlong provides most wonderful coastal and downland views over a broad panorama.

Four miles to the west is the historic town of Arundel. It is dominated by the symbolic castle and the rising spire of the cathedral. It offers a plethora of craft and antique shops as well as restaurants and tearooms. It’s a great place to wander and just enjoy its hospitality.

Arundel Castle is the seat of the Dukes of Norfolk and is set in 40 acres of sweeping grounds and gardens. The castle has been seasonally open to visitors for nearly 200 years. It is one of the great treasure houses of England and is home to priceless works of art in stunning rooms. The 11th Century Keep can be climbed via 131 steps. Having done so your effort is rewarded with fine views over Arundel and The South Downs.

Beyond the castle grounds Arundel Park extends north towards the Downs offering many fine walks. A two mile walk to the top affords fantastic downland views and south to the coast.

The River Arun winds its way around the town and is a magnet for wildlife. With more than 60 acres of ponds, lakes and reed beds, Arundel Wildfowl and Wetland Trust attracts some of the world’s most spectacular ducks, geese and swans. The best way to enjoy the river is on a river cruise stopping off at the Black Rabbit pub or proceeding further north where the river hugs the scarp wooded slope at the foot of the Downs before reaching Amberley.

Goodwood and Fontwell racecourses are nearby along with the cathedral city of Chichester with its excellent Festival Theatre noted for not only the quality of productions but also the fact many world premieres are featured as well.

To the east Worthing is three miles away while the vibrant city of Brighton and Hove is within a thirty minute drive.

The cottage might appeal to couples or be a good base for a professional working away from home. We enjoyed our privacy and would not hesitate in recommending it to anyone visiting Anmering.
