The small cottage garden is 20 yards from the front door of the cottage and provides a tranquil area to sit and enjoy an evening drink or relax with a good book on a summer's afternoon. A short walk takes you to the centre of the village which boasts a traditional pub serving excellent meals and local beers while just 2 miles away the town of Carterton offers a range of amenities. The Oxfordshire area has a selection of activities to keep you busy whilst staying at this cottage. Places such as historic Burford and the ancient market town of Witney are both a short drive away, with a wide range of things to do and places to eat and relax. It is just a 30-minute drive to the lavish Blenheim Palace with stunning gardens to explore. Further afield is the prestigious city of Oxford, where you can visit the UK’s second largest library, Bodleian and the large medieval Oxford Castle. Alvescot is a small village surrounded by the Oxforshire countryside. Within the village itself you will find a selection of independent businesses, shops, pubs and restaurants. Nearby is the thriving village of Bampton where you will find ancient customs, such as morris dancing festivals and traditional pubs serving good food and ales. Further afield, is the impressive city of Oxford with a larger selection of shops and restaurants to enjoy, as well as the medieval Oxford Castle and the Bodleian library to explore.
