This lovely cottage is an annex of the owner’s home in the quintessentially English hamelt of Oad Street, close to the market town of Sittingbourne in Kent. The accommodation is all ground floor and furnished in a wonderfully traditional style, in-keeping with the quaint aesthetic of the village. Step into the property and find yourself in a bright and airy hallway, to the right you will find a cloakroom with handy WC and washing machine. Further down the hall you will find a spacious sitting room with country-style furniture surrounding a feature fireplace with electric fire. The room also features patio doors leading out to the lovely garden with patio and lawn area. Take a seat in this calming space on a warm evening and enjoy a delicious meal alfresco. The kitchen can be found just off the sitting room and is fully appointed with a dining table in the centre. Through a further door is the bedroom, with double bed and additional door leading out to the garden. Oad Street has a very popluar Greek Taverne called the Plough and Harrow, this hamlet is complete with its own craft center which offers delicious menus and very good service, completing this hamlet is its own small garden centre. There are plenty of walking opportunities around the village and the beautiful surrounding area. A short drive away is the market town of Sittingbourne which offers plenty of shops and eateries to enjoy. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway in a rural village location, this property is ideal.

Dog friendly garden with public footpath on your doorstep. Smart TV a bonus. Thank you to Claire, warm welcome with a lovely chocolate cake, great to have a cuppa before unpacking. (M2 junction 5 major roadworks worth checking route, cottage easy to find from Sittingbourne.)

A very friendly welcome from the owner who kindly showed me around the cottage prior to moving in. There was also a very nice welcome bottle of wine, cake and cookies which were an add bonus. I enjoyed the peacefulness and privacy of the accommodation and found many local walks within easy distance of the cottage.

The pub that was said to be within one mile is in fact a restaurant only open certain hours/days of the week and is not dog friendly. There is also no pavement into the village and it is quite a fast road. We would also like to suggest that a couple of oven proof dishes would be useful.
