About this property

Have a wonderful country escape near Canterbury, stay in a spacious impressive detached 500 year old barn on the edge of rolling fields. Based in the village of Nonnington, opposite a 900 year old church, and only a short drive away from Canterbury. Perfect.

Farthingales Barn is one of two outbuildings part of a pretty Grade II listed 15th Century homestead in the village of Nonnington. Farthingales Stables is the little sister next door, which can booked together with the Barn.

Original features, exposed beams, high ceilings, large windows and doors, oak flooring, and yet open plan living too are all elements you expect in a country barn of today. Sensitively restored by its owners it offers a lovely spacious feel and privacy for all guests. Private bedrooms with en-suite bathroom on either side of the barn, a sun room which is a sanctuary where one can retreat and read.

A mezzanine floor, overlooking the living / dining area can be reached by wide oak stairs, is just the perfect hideaway for watching your favourite film, write or draw, complete with TV/DVD and working desk. Outside there is space for six for alfresco dining.

Don’t forget to explore the glorious unspoiled countryside on your doorstep, take a trip to popular Canterbury or enjoy the East Kent coast. It’s all there for you. Country, City, Coast.

Farthingales Barn is perfect for any time of the year.
