The nearby village of Chilham with its beautiful square and castle that has featured in many t.v. shows and films, is well worth a visit and there are 2 good pubs to choose from for a tasty lunch or some local Shepherd Neame ale. The beautiful gardens of the Georgian Belmont House at Throwley are only 20 minutes drive away and combine this with a stop at Faversham a medieval market town bristling with history and the ancient boatyard alongside the creek.
