SO much better than we expected. For once, the photos actually didn't do the reality justice. We all wanted to get together, buy the house and live there forever. Wonderful.

We had a wonderful stay in Sparrow Mews. The very welcoming landlady (who lives next door and is very warm and helpful) has gone out of her way to provide virtually everything one needs for a comfortable stay, and the cottage is very cozy and thoughtfully equipped. We were particularly impressed by the well-stocked kitchen. We really enjoy cooking while on holiday, and often find that only the bare minimum is provided in the way of utensils, so were very pleased and surprised to find absolutely everything we needed, and all of high quality. The landlady also very kindly provides a few food items, so that there's no need to go shopping immediately if you don't want to (very welcome after a long drive), as well as a few useful staples (another very nice touch, as we're used to having to buy everything from salt and pepper to washing-up liquid, most of which is obviously left behind). The cottage itself is very conveniently located both for Canterbury itself and for taking the train further afield, and, as it states on the website, one could easily get by without a car. All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay at Sparrow Mews, and I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation.
