About this property

Take a break in the breathtaking Kent countryside in this delightful grade II listed converted malthouse in the small village of Brabourne, within walking distance of a renowned gastro pub.

Tucked away in East Brabourne, with a private cottage garden and smart eletric fire, this self-catering family friendly cottage is everything you want from a country break, whatever the season.

The Maltings offers a great starting point to explore the Kentish countryside. Leave your car behind and start your walking or cycling holiday here. Your cottage is located on the edge of The Pilgrims’ Way, an ancient track between Winchester and Canterbury, in total a 153 mile long walking track. Enjoy the scenery through woods, over chalk grassland, minor roads and through Kentish orchards and farmland.

During summer the enclosed garden is such a great spot for sunning yourself, while the kids and the pets are playing or enjoy a family picnic. An inglenook fireplace with large electric fire will keep everyone warm and cosy inside in the colder months.

The beamed sitting room has been designed in a colourful retro style with a cream three seater sofa and chair, and a few pouffes seating 6, and a zinc trunk coffee table. Wi-Fi is available at this property, should you like to keep in touch with the outside world. On the other hand, if you prefer to detoxify, retreat to the upstairs bathroom, enjoy a nice soak in the bath or retire to your bedroom and dive into that lovely bed!

On the first floor, under the pitched roof, there are 3 characterful bedrooms and a good-size bathroom.

Just a few minutes walk away, overlooking the village green, you will find the popular gastro pub, ‘The Five Bells’, perfect for lunch, dinner or a night cap at the end of a busy day. Although the large shaker style family kitchen invites you to cook a hearty dinner too, the choice is yours.
