About this property

A character second floor coastal apartment in the central conservation area of the Victorian seaside resort of Ventnor on the Isle of Wight. Set in a great coastal location, this is a delightful apartment for couples looking for a romantic break to explore the wonders of the Isle of Wight. Once inside, you will notice the breathtaking views of the coast from the large south-facing window. The lobby is first on entry with the well-equipped kitchen off it. Next door is the sitting room which has a sofa and dining table and chairs, making it an ideal place to relax after a full day exploring the wonderful area, as well as a double bedroom to round off the property. There is plenty of storage throughout, with a separate coat hanging area or somewhere to store beach equipment. Five minutes’ walk from the apartment takes you to Ventnor Beach which boasts a lovely sand and shingle beach and excellent facilities for watersports, with the harbour selling a good range of fresh fish and locally-caught seafood. A good variety of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants line the esplanade, whilst the Botanical Gardens are within easy reach and well worth a visit. There are plenty of coastal paths to enjoy, and at the end of the day you could enjoy a splendid meal at The Royal Hotel, for something different. A little further along the coastal path is the Steephill Cove, the perfect beach for swimming and where you will find quaint cottages, cafes and a restaurant selling fresh locally caught crab and lobster. There is so much to see and do on the Isle of Wight including a visit to the Needles Adventure Park with its shopping centre, tea rooms and 9-hole golf course. The Studio is a great property to enjoy the Isle of Wight at any time of the year. Please note: There are steps inside the property and may not be suitable for people who have mobility issues.

The Victorian seaside resort of Ventnor is located at the southern end of the island and accessed via an array of steep winding roads set amidst beautiful scenery. Sheltered by St. Boniface Down, this charming town has a uniquely mild micro climate enabling tropical and exotic plants to grow throughout the area. The sloping sandy and shingle beaches provide excellent facilities for watersports and offer a range of stunning coastal paths to explore with a good variety of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants lining the esplanade. The Botanical Gardens are within easy reach and well worth a visit.

The double bed was crammed into the bedroom so it was difficult to sidle past and get in it from both sides for those people who have any restricted mobility. All of the trip hazards in the threshold of every door were clearly marked which was helpful. I could see one trip hazard that could be easily rectified - the uneven floor at the bottom of the bathroom steps could be made even very simply. I accept the other trip hazards were just part of the quirky nature of the flat conversion.

The property was small, but clean and covered all our needs.

Although centrally located The Studio was extremely quiet with a beautiful seaview. Owing to high demand and staff shortages this season we would advise others to check restaurant opening times and book in advance.
