...exceptions: 1 Booking Wight Link ferry from Lynmouth to Yarmouth - the Blue Chip reps stressed that we should go to a certain website to get a reduced price - we tried this two or three times and went back to the Blue Chip reps without any joy. We then rang Wight Link on the Monday prior to departure and managed to get the reduced price by mentioning Blue Chip Holidays. The link provided by Blue Chip just didn't work. 2 The actual property was fine except the plumbing needed attention - standing waiting for kitchen taps to actually start running was very frustrating. 3 This was probably our fault but we didn't realise that the shower was over the bath - and a deep bath at that. Dreaded each morning showering especially getting out of the bath. 4 The instructions in the property for disposal of recycling, food waste, etc was not very clear and the food waste in particular already had three bags in the container, but we managed to get rid of all of it by asking a neighbour where to place the bins. ...A lovely, clean, well equipped house with outdoor seating front and back as well as a large conservatory with a dining table that seats 6. There is always something to look at as the pontoon opposite the house seems to be the one used by visiting boats. River traffic is almost constant but not intrusive. And we saw a marvellous sunset most nights (the exception was a lightening storm which was great too). The shops, cafes and ferry terminals in East Cowes are just a 10 minute walk away and the nearest pub - The Lifeboat - is even closer along the quayside. And it serves excellent food. The island is small so nowhere is far away and I would recommend this property as a great base to explore the island. Submitted by Sharyn on 22/05/2016

...Quay. The house is an ideal base for exploring the Isle of Wight with nowhere more than 40 minutes’ drive away. The house was well equipped and in a great location on the East Cowes marina. Watching the activity on the marina every morning became very addictive and The Lifeboat pub, just a few minutes’ walk away is highly recommended. Food is very good and service is excellent.
