"3rd holiday at Brookside Cottage & as always very peaceful relaxing place to stay with the moors right from the doorstep. Cottage is lovely & warm & cosy in excellent location. Miles of walks to do & a handy Tescos Express not far away & Ringwood shops easy to get to.Thank you for a lovely stay, it is the best holiday cottage I have stayed in so far."

"A cosy little cottage situated on a farm. A huge enclosed garden so ideal if you are taking your dog. Ponies graze outside the window and you are in the heart of the forest for some lovely walks."

"Absolutely loved brookside we have been before and it's always very homely.spoke to Peter the owner who was really nice an accomadating.we have an excellent view of the forest from the picture window normally cows ponies and foal can be seen right up to the window and gate.Stars at night are amazing. The birdsong and the various birds we saw this time added to the peace and tranquillity of brookside. We have already booked for next year.Thank you 🤗"

"We had a lovely restful holiday at Brookside we enjoyed seeing the ponies and would definitely go to the cottage again."

"Lovely cottage with everything you would need. The New Forest is right outside the cottage and the walks over the hills with the ponies and cattle was great.Nearby Poulner and Ringwood have the shops you need and are easy to get to within 5 minutes. The A31 can get busy, but there are alternative roads that can be taken through the New Forest to get to most locations.Great quiet peaceful location and a cosy cottage that makes an ideal base for visiting the area. We would certainly use this cottage again if we were staying in the New Forest."

"Just back from a brilliant week away with the family and dog. The cottage is in an ideal private location if you want traffic free area where you can just walk out the gate onto miles of the new Forest trails or mountain bike. And yet only 1/2 a mile off the main A31 dual carriage over the hill. The property has ample garden space for the dog and is enclosed well enough to top our staffy X escaping (not that she would), although smaller breeds would get through the farm gate from the garden. As mentioned horses deer and cattle all wander up to the gate and cottage window so best to park the car inside the garden on the adequate gravel parking. We easily got the golf estate and eldests visiting X5 on the drive . The steep un-metalled track up was fine being summer but i could imagine if you are not used to muddy lanes, could be a shock in winter although it does have stones mixed in. Getting anywhere is straightforward as you are only half mile off the Eastbound A31 to Southampton and then turn half mile further at Picket post where Mc Donalds is to come underneath and back westbound to Ringwood or Poole/ Bournmouth. You can also go from Picket post down to Burley and Christchurch avoiding the westbound A31 if it is blocked. It is also possible to go out the other way from Shobley avoiding the A31 to the next big village at Poulner (5 mins) where there is a Tesco express and great cook to order chippy and pizza takeaway and access Ringwood without touching the A31 dual Carriage. We found due to the hot summer that it was very very busy all around with the A31 and at standstill most days so be prepared to bash the sat Nav to get the back rds across to avoid. We even got back from Bournemouth via Hurn and Avon into Ringwood avoiding the friday night mayhem. There is a Sainsbury and Waitrose but not if taking the dog in heat, parking is a pay and display car park so one person needs to stay with car. We saw vigilante patrols reporting if dogs locked in the car or berating owners to take the dog with them The Cottage has adequate room in both double bedrooms and a nice shower bathroom with good powerful electric shower There is a second toilet although it is very small cupboard almost but OK for emergency's. There is a nice modern conservatory looking over the mature gardens but we spend most time on patio having breakfast etc. Plenty of shade areas on the nice lawn if it gets too hot for the dogs or humans and we found even during the heatwave, it cooled down quickly at night with windows open and a portable fan to blow throughThe BT WIFI hub is good enough for me to stream Sky Sports live so should be adequate and worked in the garden There are loads of places you can take the dog if like last week it was it is too hot to leave in car as it states not to leave the dog in the accommodation alone We found a brilliant pub restaurant at nearby Burley in the Forest The Burley Inn just as you start to head south out Burley village on hill on right that takes dogs and great food You need to check the beaches as some don't allow dogs but many do if on a lead from May -Sept Studland Middle is a National Trust and does allow dogs in the water as well so long as restrained"

"beautiful location. dog loved the space and i totally relaxed. great place to stay for seeing New Forest, East Dorset etc. loved the tranquility"
    Jill ‐ 7 Jul 2018
"Beautiful location. Cottage comfortable. We were fortunate with the weather so didn't spend much time indoors. Living room furniture on the small side so perhaps better suited to 2 adults and 2 children rather than 4 adults. Having said that, we had a lovely holiday and will definitely return."

"Perfect place to relax. Straight out the door into the forest. Greeted every morning by ponies and cows! All the basics available in the village and Ringwood has everything else."
    MAIDENS ‐ 25 May 2018
"We have just returned from a fantastic holiday in this enchanting cottage(our second visit) where we were most comfortable. It is surrounded by a very private garden and many lovely walks from the cottage and further afield. Ideally situated only 5 minutes drive to the Tesco Store, a bakery and a fish and chip shop (Always cooked to order). An idyllic location, what more could you ask for ? We have already booked for next year."
    David ‐ 13 Apr 2018
"We enjoyed our stay very peaceful and walks right outside the cottage. For us we would have preferred to be nearer to some amenities, shop ,pub because everywhere was a drive which on a damp dark night we did not fancy at the end of the day .The track to the cottage was very muddy and slippery owing to farm at the bottom with manure piled up against the wall, poss better in summer."
    Claire ‐ 8 Apr 2018
"The living room was a bit small and it would have been nice too see the view without having to stand up.other than that a lovely place to stay for two people and a dog"
    Christine ‐ 17 Feb 2018
"Warm and friendly welcome from owners and ponies!! Wonderful location with everything I could wish for a holiday of quiet and beauty"
