    About this property

Surrounded by woodland, with footpaths and cycling paths from the door, Salisbury and Winchester cathedrals a short drive.
Surrounded by woodland. This semi-detached barn conversion is surrounded by woodland in the grounds of the owner’s home, which was formerly owned by a famous wildlife film maker and photographer. Wildlife abounds with good birdwatching, and a chicken keeping course is sometimes available at an extra cost. This holiday accommodation has a sitting-out area with a seat overlooking woodland and lies within the New Forest with open heaths and wild ponies. Miles of footpaths and a network of walking and cycling paths stretch from the door. Salisbury and Winchester cathedral cities are both a short drive. Bournemouth with its sandy beach, and Christchurch are both about ½ hour’s drive. Poole is within easy reach, and the market town of Ringwood is approximately 4 miles away. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
Ground floor: Living/dining area/kitchen. Shower room with toilet. Steep stairs to first floor: 1 twin bedroom with low sloping ceiling.
Electric central heating, electricity and bed linen included. Freeview TV. Microwave. Sitting-out area with seat. Parking (1 car). No smoking. No children under 14 years.

"A lovely place and friendly people just a little to small for us, but it’s set out in a beautiful place thank you for a lovely stay 😁"

"Lovely location and quite a well equipped cottage. However, the size is a little misleading, the steps to the tiny bedroom are troublesome and the two bucket seats in the living area very uncomfortable. Space is obviously an issue regarding the seats but a small sofa or comfier chairs would be better. We had a good holiday tho."

"Nice little space for 2 in great location. Friendly reception from owner on arrival. Very steep stairs/ladder to bedroom - okay if you’re fully mobile. Badgers showed up on time!Glazed doors to rear over garden view would have been even better. Had a great stay, thank you."

"While the cottage is very picturesque it could do with a little more care, the fridge is missing the shelf to hold milk, last person's milk had leaked in salad draw, there is a lovely bird table full of birds but, the window could do with a good clean in and out. the cookers grill pan wouldn't stay on the shelf and we had to try and sort in the middle of cooking while very hot. very hot in sun and only 1 small window upstairs and down, the blind is missing from the kitchen, which means anyone in the garden can see right in.Was made to fill uncomfortable when spoke to vendor about a few issues, including milk in draw. But if you want peace and quite, which I really needed, this is just the ticket."

"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, Owner charming & helpful providing us with an extra fan as the weather was very hot. Would have liked a picnic bench in the garden to enable us to take advantage of the view and perhaps eat outside rather than perched up on stools."

"Perfect location, everything we were promised from the reviews, plus a great host. Wild life on your door step, just out of the window. One of the best breaks we've had, at home or abroad. Will definitely return."

"Excellent location and great hosts..so nice to have wildlife and birds in the garden..great location 500yards from good pub..great location.. quirky cottage with steep staircase not for faint hearted but so peaceful and cosy..beds really comfy..great walks from the door..good security..would highly recommend and would go back.."

"Cramped accommodation. Steep stairs an understatement. There was a sign warning to remind you to come down backwards. Definitely not suitable for anyone with any infirmaries or needing to get up during the night. Can only stand upright in a narrow band along the middle of the bedroom meaning only one person can dress/undress at a time. No hanging space in bedroom, only a very small amount downstairs. No natural light into bedroom. Small window looks into an enclosed carport. Hence room dim even during day and needs light to be used. If you need to get up during night the bedroom light would need to be switched on, partner woken, possibly to turn light on as only one light switch behind one of the beds in order to have a safe visibility to negotiate the stairs (more like ladder). Had to kneel on floor to access the clothes drawers. The fridge was missing one of the shelves and all the door shelving missing. Both easy chairs 'tired'.Description states property has electric central heating. It actually has an electric wall heater in the very small kitchen/lounge/dining area and an electric heated towel rail in bathroom. No heating upstairs.Location pleasant. We got used to the property over the week, but we are moderately fit. Enjoyed our stay as the property's good location allowed easy access to some pleasant enjoyable locations. Property description needs to be improved to make the property's limitations clear."

"Excellent location, walking distant from a pub that also serves food. Also 10mins drive from Ringwood. Forest walks right on your doorstep. Quiet cottage with fantastic views from window of birds and other wildlife. Friendly host. Ideal for a stay for 2 in the heart of the forest."

"Great break wonderful woodland, animals and birds"
