About this property
S41709 which has ground floor accommodation is a delightful cottage set in an amazing position right in the middle of the forest and approached by a short narrow track.
Eyeworth is a very pretty hamlet with a beautiful pond about 300 yards from the cottage with wild ducks. The wild ponies are often seen drinking from the side of the pond and the ducks are always looking for a crust of bread to be thrown in for them.
Surrounded by forest in a very quiet position you can walk from the front door in all directions, no roads, just woodland and heath land where ponies graze
The cottage was part of an old gun powder factory dating from 1899. There are wonderful views from all the windows where you will spot wildlife. There is a flat fenced large garden with lawn and flower beds which is safe for children.
About 900 yards away is a local country pub that serves wonderful lunches every day of the week and stocks local beers.
The nearest shop is about 3 miles away. Salisbury, Bournemouth, Lymington (where there are very good shops and a street market on a Saturday) and Southampton are easily accessible. Visit Peppa Pig World at Romsey only 10 miles away. The nearest sandy beaches are Bournemouth 18 miles and Sandbanks 21 miles. Stonehenge is 24.5 miles away. Brownsea Island is easily reached from Poole Harbour where one can sea red squirrels and peacocks and is 35 miles away.

Excellent location. Property as described. Well equipped and prepared. House a bit cold when heating not on (feedback already given directly to Snaptrip)Confirmed Guest ‐ 18 Jan 2017
It was so lovely, comfortable and peaceful. Kitchen was perfect and had just everything we needed. Walking guides would have been helpful as we couldn't download anything. The Sky recorder box needs replacing as if we recorded anything it just wouldn't play back without jumping. I think they could make it easer to recycle. Also, it would be nice to have at least one shower if possible. Just some comments to help improve but we loved it.Confirmed Guest ‐ 6 Jan 2017
Warm welcome, lovely hamper, well stocked cottage. Clean & tidy. Didn't want for a thing! Fire warming & cosy, can't rate it highly enough. A beautiful rural location, all windows providing views of the local wildlife, felt very at one with nature! Perfect for a " Get Away From It All Break ! "Highly recommended.Confirmed Guest ‐ 4 Nov 2016
The cottage was lovely and in a delightfully quiet location. Sue was very helpful and called to check everything was OK after we had arrived. We had a lovely break and would definitely stay there again.Confirmed Guest ‐ 14 Oct 2016
Directions to the cottage were not very good! A little more detail was needed in terms of distances, etc.Confirmed Guest ‐ 10 Oct 2016
The housekeeping was excellent and the cottage was generally very well equipped. It is in unbeatable location and we all had a lovely time. The housekeeper was very friendly on the phone and had left us a superb welcome hamper. However there were a few things that were not satisfactory. Firstly the tiny 'ironing board' is not fit for purpose. But perhaps most importantly it is not possible to take a shower as there is no cubicle and only a hand held attachment in any of the three bathrooms. We are surprised that RR has overlooked this necessity. In the main bathroom there is a deep bath and NO safety handles. But there is a sign that says 'Do not grab hold of the taps in order to get out'! Also we do not know if the owners are aware but during our stay there were lots of very large hornets outside the cottage and so we were unable to open windows - perhaps a solution needs to be found here. If they are a regular feature then we think people should be made aware- could be v dangerous.Confirmed Guest ‐ 22 Sep 2016
Cannot speak highly enough of these services. There was EVERYTHING that you needed (and a fair bit of what you didn't realise you needed) available. The welcome basket is a brilliant idea too. The setting for this cottage is just beautiful and the way it is presented is first class. Have already recommended it to several people.Confirmed Guest ‐ 19 Sep 2016
As there was no wifi or phone signal we were very disappointed that the house phone did not work. We had a small baby with medical problems and it would have been reassuring to have a working phone in case of an emergency. The house was well equipped with crockery etc. So much so that there was not a lot of space for food storage in any of the cupboards which was a shame.Confirmed Guest ‐ 15 Aug 2016
The lack of Internet was rather annoying. Also the pay phone doesn't work properly, it eats money but the connect is awful. Also the fire alarm above the oven goes off ever time the oven door is open. Could it not be moved a foot back to stop the steam setting it off. We also had a problem with the alarm in the hall, it also wouldn't stop. We call Sue about it, under her instruction we vacuumed it, it worked that time. It might also be worth mentioning the lack is showers in the info, I realise that due to lack of pressure a shower is impossible. It is just that some people many not be able to get into a bath. Sue was very helpful. Apart from that, we loved out stay and would return again. JillConfirmed Guest ‐ 26 Jul 2016
Service, as always, perfectConfirmed Guest ‐ 15 Jul 2016
The cottage was truly beautiful, very pleasant surroundings, extremely comfortable, the welcome hamper was an added extra and very generous. We would certainly use Snaptrip again and we all loved S41709. The housekeeper gave us a courtesy welcome call on the Friday we arrived, to see that we had settled in ok and that everything was alright. A very nice personal touch. Many thanksConfirmed Guest ‐ 20 Jun 2016
Beautiful cottage in a super location.Confirmed Guest ‐ 3 Mar 2016
Mrs C - A well maintained, thought out cottage that thinks of the needs of its guests i.e chairs in the bathrooms and plenty of places to unpack your belongings. Very well equipped.Confirmed Guest ‐ 14 Feb 2016
This was a lovely, very well equipped cottage in a lovely location which I would have marked excellent had it not been for the heating. We would have appreciated some control over the heating because at times the cottage was very cold. It would have helped had we been able to keep the wood burning fire alight, unfortunately as soon as the kindling had burnt away, the fire went out. Members of my party were familiar with wood burners but they failed in there attempts to get this one going. In the evenings the bedrooms in particular became very cold.Confirmed Guest ‐ 14 Jan 2016
Ms M - A very enjoyable stay will definately be back to stay here againConfirmed Guest ‐ 21 Dec 2015
Lovely property, well appointed and beautifully decorated. Because of position right in the New Forest we were visited by hornets which meant we couldn't have doors and windows open as much as we'd have liked, but that's not the owners' fault! However, in view of problems with the boiler above, it was not ideal.Confirmed Guest ‐ 16 Jul 2015
The only problem was lack of communication. No internet. No mobile phone signal. Landline not working until midweek. When it did, eventually, work, it was very expensive. The housekeeper did her best, was very helpful. Everything else was super. Clean, quiet, very comfortable. Thank you.Confirmed Guest ‐ 15 Jul 2015
We booked very late and the booking was confirmed within 5 minutes. All information was sorted out in the 3 days before we arrived having only booked 3 days before wet arrived. Very efficient and perfect at a time of distress for my family. The cottage itself was totally relaxing and beautifully rural and relaxing and we had a lovely short breakConfirmed Guest ‐ 15 Jul 2015
Fabulous locationConfirmed Guest ‐ 2 Jun 2015
Up to your usual high standard!Confirmed Guest ‐ 22 May 2015
The cottage and location was wonderful. However it really needs to have a fitted proper shower .Confirmed Guest ‐ 22 May 2015
Whilst we knew that there was no Wi-Fi it would have been helpful. The heating went off too early at night and could be altered to stay on for longer.Confirmed Guest ‐ 23 Apr 2015
