Snaptrip says

Russet is a well-received cottage, praised for its comfort, well-equipped nature, and beautiful location near the New Forest. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, including a homemade cake, and the enclosed garden is a hit with dog owners. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many guests planning to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage consistently receives high marks for cleanliness, with numerous reviews mentioning it being spotless and well-presented. Only one review cited cleaning issues with some kitchen items, but this seems an exception rather than the rule.

The location is frequently described as perfect, idyllic, and peaceful, with easy access to the New Forest and local walks. It's also noted as a good base for exploring Dorset. The rural setting is a highlight, contributing to the tranquil experience.

Guests find the cottage comfortable and cosy, with a warm welcome and a homely feel. Some reviews mention issues with garden furniture comfort and the size of the bed linen, but overall, the comfort level is rated highly.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the cottage being described as well-equipped and having everything needed. However, there are some comments about maintenance and the need for updates, which slightly lowers the score.

The thoughtfulness of the host is a recurring theme, with many guests mentioning the homemade cake and other welcoming touches. While these gestures are greatly appreciated, it should be noted that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

We prefer to self cater and this was very easy to do in Russet. The open plan space works well for relaxing in and there are lots of walks and nature surrounding you to enjoy. We had a great week and would definitely consider returning to stay again.

Close to Salisbury where we had a great day out after a bracing walk with the dogs at the nature reserve around the corner. A magical weekend and we are both totally relaxed.

We had a lovely week, taking the dog for walks from Russet up onto Martin Down. Found most of the places we wanted to go to were approximately 30 minutes from Russet which was ideal. Harley, our four legged family member settled into Russet straight away, as did we. It was warm and quiet. We would sit ànd listen to a owl in the evenings and look at all the feathered visitors to the garden during the day. We would definitely come back if you'd have us. Oh and the cake was gorgeous thank you so much. Gary and Sue xx
