A luxurious, modern, dog friendly holiday cottage in the seaside village of Camber, 5 minutes from the fantastic sandy beach and only three miles from historic Rye.

Whitebeam is a beautifully presented holiday cottage with those little extras that make a stay, ‘home from home’. Positioned in a quiet corner of the award winning Whitesands it makes a perfect family getaway. Everything has been covered to maximise your enjoyment during your stay, with a large smart TV with Sky Q (sports, movies, on demand and box sets), Wifi, board games and Nespresso coffee machine.

Downstairs features a large lounge with french doors opening onto the enclosed garden. A great room for relaxing with comfy sofas, modern feature fire, large TV with a great TV package and a small desk, should you need to work. Large open plan kitchen diner equipped for all your catering needs and the all important coffee machine with Nespresso capsules and milk frother. The hallway has plenty of coat hanging space, an under-stairs cupboard for your beach bits and a downstairs cloak room.

Upstairs you will find the family bathroom with bath, overhead detachable shower, glass screen, hand basin, shaver point and WC. There are three bedrooms, one twin bedroom, one double and the master bedroom with super king bed and ensuite shower room.

There is a rear garden which is partially decked with outside table and bench seating and fully enclosed. To the front is an enclosed picket fenced area, with a bench to catch the last rays of sunshine, making both gardens perfectly safe for your children and dog during your stay.

If staying with a small child, we can provide a travel cot, high chair and stair gate, but please request at time of booking.

There is allocated parking behind the cottage in the left car port and the space in front. Please always try to park considerately.

Camber and beyond

Camber Sands has much to offer, with its beautiful sandy beach, which stretches for miles and has safe bathing with beach patrols and life guards on patrol during the busy season. The village has various small shops, takeaways, a Post office, two pubs, a wine bar and The Gallivant restaurant. A variety of activities can be enjoyed including kite surfing, kite buggying, surfing, land yachting, horse riding, fishing as well as numerous other activities both on the beach and nearby. Wildlife havens at Dungeness and Rye Harbour Nature Reserves are worth a visit. If you need to book a watersports lesson then activities are available at Rye Watersports, a safe lake, just one mile towards Rye or Kite surfing and paddle boarding are available from Jury’s Gap with the Kitesurfing centre.

The historic town of Rye, with it’s fine restaurants and pubs, is just 3 miles away. There you can visit the Heritage Centre to get your bearings and watch the Town model’s ‘Sound and Light’ show, which goes into details about the history and the colourful past of Rye and it’s inhabitants. Or amble around the many antique shops in the Strand Quay, hunt out a bargain or find something unique in one of the many independent boutiques that Rye has to offer.

Just 10 minutes drive away is the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, where you can walk along the sea wall and out on to the marshes to enjoy flora and fauna. You can choose to walk out to Camber Castle, originally located on a shingle spit and where once, it protected the towns of Rye and Winchelsea, before the sea receded. Although no longer open to visitors, it is still a striking landmark worth a visit. Camber Sands beach is just a short walk away and has miles of sandy beach and dunes to explore. Or visit the rock pools at low tide on the pebbly beach at Pett Level, just a 10 minute drive from Rye.

The Towns of Hastings and Ashford are around a thirty minute drive away and here you can get main line trains to London, if you wish to explore the capital for a day.The high speed train from Ashford to London takes just 38 minutes! The fastest service to London from Rye via Ashford takes just 1 hour and 12 minutes.

If you would like to take a day trip to the continent , the Eurostar can be picked up from Ashford International station and trains to Paris, Lille and Brugge are available. Alternatively, the ferries run from Dover, just 45 minutes away or the Channel Tunnel from Folkestone, a 45 minute drive.
